Wiring fault on trailer

"Wiring fault on trailer" message. Every time I touch the brakes I am getting a very annoying beep and an error message that says "wiring fault on trailer." I don't have a trailer hooked up so not sure what's going on. Anyone else had this before?

Is your trailer plug wet on the inside or something? I had a friend telling me about this happening to him every time the inside of his plug got wet

Check the flat 4 pin connector, probably corroded. Spray both of your plugs with WD40, should clear it up.

My dang plug housing seems really loose. I can wiggle it with ease. My 4 plug has some corrosion but nothing drastic but I will shoot it with some water displacement and see what happens.

Check the harness near the hitch, may have chaffed and you have some bare wires against the hitch.
