im in the process of building my obs 7.3. eventually this truck will do nothing but pull trailers and work around the farm. i already own a truck that is slowly becoming nothing but a toy. i was wondering if anyone has any ideas? im shooting for a reliably 400hp.

Location
Surrey B.C.
4" Exhaust
6637 Intake
6 POS Chip with your flavour of tunes
Regulated return with 1/2 fuel lines, I prefer dual SD pumps in case one fails you arent stranded.
Gauges, I like gauges so I can watch my engine, dual pyros are a must, boost and back pressure, trans temp if auto and a scan gauge.
And trans mods, whether its a new clutch or rebuilt auto with billet TC and valve body at least.
Some things also to consider are a new set of valve springs, pushrods and headstuds. Although not needed, but for 1000$ out of pocket for peace of mind. Why not.

I would say you could do stage 2s and a d66 would be your cheapest bet. But personally what I want to do for an tow pig OBS is:
All of the above basic mods
T4 mount from Irate
S362-S366 size turbo
Definately install an SD intercooler
And a set of 238/80 hybrids
I know these are a little bit bigger than needed for 400hp, but Id rather have a little room to grow, with an s366 this setup would be a solid 425ish HP truck without high egts in a hotter tune, and a solid 300HP tow tune.

400hp is a lot for yanking trailers around on the farm. It sounds like a good way to be breaking axles and other parts on it with too much HP. I am doing a similar build on my truck. It's getting a 40hp tow tune with AC injectors and a 4" exhaust. I wouldn't go any hotter than that myself.

Farm work is tough on trucks, and you're not going to make it more reliable by adding more HP. I can't think of a single instance that I needed more HP than what I have completely stock on the farm.
