Worn push rod

This is one of the pushrods we took out while doing gaskets.

What do you guys think about this? what was it contacting?

i think i traced this down to the rocker box and head gasket causing this... I always have at least 5 of them in an engine when i do gaskets... very common

Ya i thought it was the gasket but I didnt see any wear on it. This was the only one. It looked like the guy who did the first gasket job saw the wear and just flipped the push rod because its wore in two spots. Thanks for the info.

not smart to flip the pushrods...they are meant to go one way and to stay in the same spot they came from.
