Issues as miles get up there?

I'm looking into buying a 6.7 in the spring. What will be in my price range has anywhere from 150k miles to a touch over 200k. Most are 2011's but there may be a couple 12's.

Any issues with the first model year? Anything people are seeing go bad around 200k?

These things seem to be very reliable and have few issues. I was looking at studded 6.0's for awhile but you can have a fairly plain Crew cab 6.7 for not a ton more money.

I am kind of new to the diesel world but from what I see the 6.7 has been very reliable in comparison to some of the other more recent ones. The 11-12 has ceramic bearings in the turbo which has caused issues. Other than that I know some have said they had *** sensor problems but that's nothing
Major. I'm sure others will chime in that know far more than me. Good luck with your search!

I've had very good luck and pleased as punch with mine. Mine is an early 11 and has 240k. I've changed turbo, injection pump, added an airdog all in the hunt for ponies. Need to rebuild front end next, but that is normal for any truck.

Turbos had issues with bearings going bad. Cylinder Head Valves were made of soft material and sometimes had issues failing.

Thanks everyone.

I was skeptical of one with a touch over 200k but whats the difference between 180 and 205? Not a whole lot.

11-14 turbos are the same

150k+ wouldn't scare me a bit if the price is right

I bought my 2011 with 170k on it a year ago. It now has 203k and runs and looks like it has 100k. Well I did upgrade the turbo but that was a performance upgrade , stock turbo didn't give me trouble

I've been looking at basically work truck packages in CCSB or CCLB. and they are from 20k to 27k. Some guys seem to think studded and ******d 6.0's are still worth 20+.

I would stay away from the 2011, just for the fact there is the odd chance a valve may go south. Also the early models had cases where the glow plugs would break off and nfg an engine.

I got my 2011 XLT with 151k for $27k. Within 2 weeks of having the truck the EGR started leaking. After ******** I had the boot blow off due to excess oil. Nothing other that.
