You better off going your BASB route. That will be guaranteed results. I just swapped from the original WW2 to the WW2 3866 in my 38r to see how it does towing. Hell I love my 38r, but I do have a BASB itch. I might try to find a OBS guy looking to upgrade and sell my IHI ups, delete pedestal, and turbo to as a kit.

BASB defently looks like a winner. I just got to come up with the funds.

If i wasn't so busy I would buy a brute and have Jonathan live tune until it can do what they claim, just to put a positive end to this thread. I just don't have the time to make this happen

Don't bother. That's what I'm doing. I'll be posting track times as soon as I can make some passes. The Brad will quite possibly be there to witness since he lives not too far from the track.

Docbar.. What fuel system are you using? I'm loosing some 10-12lbs of pressure @WOT on my factory pump and I need to upgrade it.. I was thinking using dual Bosch pumps

That's what I was thinking.. From what I've read so far thAt the Bosch pumps are very dependable and I like the idea if one goes out you have the other to get you home.

Will the 3/8 line run from tank to pumps be ok or does have to be larger?

normally one would do a upgraded draw straw or a sump and run 1/2 inch line to the pre filter. then both pumps from the filter head to the post filter then 3/8s to the heads.

I'm using DI's full RR with a FueLab pump. I really like the idea of dual Bosch's, though and might go to that if the FueLab ever craps the bed.

I hold a rock solid 65PSI at WOT, measured with a mechanical gauge, regardless of tuner. I highly recommend the FueLab. I have ~100K on it so far.

I hope it does, too. I'll be like Joe Friday and report "just the facts, ma'am". LOL
I'll post a weight slip and whatever time slips I get. The truck will be in its work clothes, so I'm expecting around 8,200#'s with me in it and a full tank of fuel.

I was thinking about this post and was wondering if you got any runs at the track with the brute? I'm still on the stock turbo and its on its way out.. Unfortunately i don't have the cash right now to get the basb so I have to have the stocker rebuilt or I could swing the brute

No I didn't get to make any passes at the track. Now my son (Texan94) is driving the truck and he sure as hell better not make any passes at the track or anywhere else! I'm stuck driving a TVA Dodge with 5.7 Hemi badging and a 4.7 POS under the hood. :fustrate:

That sucks man lol.. I've been running the stock turbo for awhile now and it's worked fine for daily driving but of course egts get hot quick when playing around. What you you guys do if you couldn't afford the t4 kit and basb? Rebuild the stocker or grab the brute w/ live tunning and just make that work for awhile

Rebuild the stocker and save for what you really want, I can't imagine the brute being much different than the d66, plus remember HP number are only part of the equation, drivability is much more important for daily driving and towing...

On another note, if your gonna spend the money for a brute, might as well just get a 38r, and get the rest of the parts need from a junk yard, it'll move more air then the brute and have much better drivability.

Yea. Settling for a brute 66 isnt a great idea. Rebuild the stocker for a few dollars and stay the course.

Im not being judgy here so please take it with a grain of salt, just some heart to heart, but if you daily drive a diesel pickup and cant afford to maintain it Id seriously consider unloading it for something with less expensive service parts.

I unloaded my cclb 14 dmax for that reason. As soon as my life dictated I didnt need to yank an enclosed trailer down the road for 50k+ miles per year, I sold it. Expensive maintenance. Most parts give up after 60-100k miles of regular service, aka, towing.

Op, id rebuild that stocker, as said, and get the truck to work best as you can with it and keave it alone. You can wind up wondering where 5 c notes went swapping a turbo out and another style mount in along with a bigger charger.

I said I didn't have $3500 to buy the charger kit I want.. I have money to maintain my diesel. So looks like I should rebuild the stocker or look around for parts to do a 38r.. Thanks

38r could be a option for now.. So I need to find intake plenums, spider, pedestal and the uppipes?

If you really want a basb or whatever t4 setup, Id rebuild the stocker and wait.

Again, I meant no offense by my pprevious comment but there might be someone reading this that can use the advice.
