Buddy of mine has one that's tuned. '07 ccsb with a big 100gal fuel/toolbox combo, etc. Stop light to stop light it's kinda meh...but from a roll, and top speed on the highway look out..that thing has some steam up top...I held him off tip about 75-80, and he damn near ran over me from behind.

Aren't the inline six engines known for low end torque? In general.

Fords I-6 300 c.u. gas motor. For those who have driven one.

Over the road trucks I-6.

I-6 Cummins

I drove a 6.0 6spd, seemed to like the rev's, mostly top end and thats why they seem slow with a standard tranny because you may not shift up that high in normal driving.

Cummins engine seem to have much more low end due to there design. Hence why he pulled away when it shifted to over drive and dropped the rpms down and pulled harder.

5.9 Cummins is 4.02 with a 4.72 stroke makes for a good low end due to better leverage on crank and other factors.

4.21 and 4.88 for the 6.7 Cummins

3.74 and 4.13 for the 6.0. PSD

4.11 and 4.18 for the 7.3 PSD

3.86 and 4.13 for the 6.4 PSD

3.90 and 4.25 for the 6.7 PSD

As the bore gets closer to the stroke in size the more the engine favors higher rpm. As it gets closer to over square the more the top end increases.

Under square would be bore smaller than stroke.

A good over square example would be a 327 sb chevy 4.00 bore and 3.25 stroke those engines love to rev.

Of course tuning can help with the feel of the engine but by design I-6 has the advantage.

A 6.7 we did here at the shop with just deletes and H&S mini maxx did 410ish and over 1000 i believe on the rollers. Our truck on Extreme Street studded, intake and exhaust did 410 and 820. So it would be close if your tires werent so high. Just going off rough average numbers.

Yes their HP is usually a touch lower but their torque helps. HP is just a function of tq anyways.

I'm pretty sure a stock 6.7 and a stock 6.0 dyno about the same HP.

Don't be scared of it, I have an 05 on 37s and raced my buddy with a 6.7 dpf delete and smart and pulled on him same story he had 33s. But I have a 6 speed. Once I hit 4th gear I was long gone. Another friend of mine has a 6.7 on 37s same set up and I completely embarrassed him. All on canned tunes on my sct. Go give him hell

Here's one of the runs, he grabs me a little between shifts. But hey not bad for a canned tune 6.0 with a bad clutch.
