The fuel cooler is really nice but I do want to clear the air for those that are contemplating a dual fueler. The dual fueler system DOES NOT have any king of overheating issue. There are hundreds of these kits out there without coolers and without issues. The moral of the story is, don't run your truck on empty. Ever.

X2 on this. I ran the truck for about 1.5 years with duel fuelers with no extra cooler and I had zero issues with low fuel pressure codes . The extra cooler IS NOT REQUIRED. I should have clarified that post and Dallas is correct. Their kit does not overheat. I only did the extra fuel cooler for my own satisfaction and cuz I was bored and wanted a project to work on. I've had the truck back and forth across the country East of the Mississippi river multiple times with no fuel cooler and the fuel system still ran like a champ.

And it's worth noting between the H&S customer service and Mikes customer service if you ever got in a bind they would take good care of you. I can speak from experience.

Where do you live? The only time I run #1 is the the ambient temp goes past -5 even then I run #2 with the white power service.

get LE 2411 full torque from jimdawg185 on here and you will never have to switch from #2.

At what point is it time to ditch the factory lpfp and go aftermarket. Currently seeing 25k @ wot with my stock lpfp. Truck is modded.

I remounted the pump so that it sits vertical, versus laying horizontal. This way it won't hit on the tank. I also rotated the end cap on the pump, 180 degrees so that the harness wouldn't rub against the tank. I doing this, I think I flipped the brushes around as pump was running wrong direction. I just repinned at the connector to resolve that. Disregard any fuel residue, I was pulling fuel out of the truck for another truck.

Just a little update on this, I would advise NOT mounting the pump like this. Mine has went out with bout 20k miles, working with Dallas on fixing and will be figuring out a new location to keep it in the horizontal orientation.

dang. i wouldn't have thought that it would make a difference how it was mounted.. is there a specific reason that it should lay horizontal?

This might have been asked already but does the mini max have an actual code for fuel temp Overheating?

I'm in the scenario of if it's below 1/2 to 3/8 of a tank then I can get a low fuel pressure and large fuel leak code, but over that it seems I cannot get it to trigger. These two codes get running fuel pressure KSI to be lower than normal and cause the truck to stall too. I know the solution is to ultimately buy this pump but I would like to make sure I don't have any underlying issues first. Once it enters this state of lower fuel pressure and stalling, it seems that keeping the tank near full all the time and letting the truck sit for a bit is the only way to get around this.... any insight to this?

No code that I know of. The pcm is supposed to reduce power at a certain temperature but I know mines been way too hot before and I didn't notice reduced power and there was no CEL.

You may have a weak lpfp, forscan has a pid for the low pressure fuel switch and fuel rail temperature, run the tank down to a 1/4 while logging fuel temp and that switch, you might find your issue.

Have you ever gotten a code for the pressure control valve? Those can go bad too, similar issues result.

Thanks for the info! I have gotten a code for low rail pressure (P0087), large fuel leak (P0093) and P228F fuel regulator valve. I have changed the valve and have never had the P228F code come back. I can only get the other two to trigger now. I believe like you mentioned, the LPFP is probably getting weak from constantly trying to run the dual fuel setup for sure. I need to look into this for scan app for sure however...

mine went into reduced power at 160* IIRC .
Did it notify you on the dash?

Mines been so hot it started melting the little rubber rings on my brass push loc fittings.

Even with my recent issues I've never gotten a wrench notification or anything... maybe it's that XL life lol
