Legally speaking, you may not be able to get the truck tagged though. Some states flat out prohit you from putting an "older" motor into a "newer" vehicle (for example, a 1999 Cummins into a 2005 truck). And it probably goes without saying that the whole DPF issue could be a huge headache.

But what if the 6.0 came from a 08 van?

Just swap an 08 front clip and interior into a 6.0, much cheaper and faster, don't have to deal with the dpf etc...

You have to have two trucks to do that. I already have a 6.0 engine. There is surely a nice 08 or 09 somewhere with a blown 6.4 that somebody wants out of. :poke:

Ya but the van 6.0L dose not have a dpf on it and the build date wold be right so there might be a loophold in there somewhere but hell I don't no I think switching the front clip tail, gate and interior wold be a cheeper move and just keep the spare 6.0's for building or that O chit moment LOL

Disregard the DPF for a moment.....in many states that emissions test, you will not pass inspection if you install an older model year motor into a newer moder year vehicle.

ginormous waste of time

huge step backwards, but if you want an 08+ 6.0, just update the body work. way easier and legal

But technically the motor would be the right year I just looked at the build date on the one in or 09 and it says it was built in 09
