I completely disagree with opening this to spectators for several reasons. This is a mutli faceted competition where spectators could easily get in the way of the competitions (mileage test) as well as any emergency repairs that need to take place (competition rig needs a new transmission, head gasket, whatever). I don't see any way to make this spectator friendly and allow the necessary room and freedom that the competitors need.

I want to enter - but I'm still not quite where I want to be with my "off brand" truck - I really need to drop the coin and build an engine before I seriously consider this.

I think there are ways around issues like that. Don't allow spectators for the MPG trip and dyno competition. Those could both exclusively be competitors and their teams only. I don't know why anyone would want to waste their own fuel watching trucks go through the MPG test anyway. Let's be real here.

For the other competitions, have a designated area solely for the teams so they can have all of their parts close by and not worry about spectators being in the way. Spectators can be in the stands or in a designated parking lot. And only allow spectators to watch the drag racing, trailer pull, and sled pull (not sure if the obstacle course is done near the stands). Finally, have entry tickets priced really high and pre-order only.....like $50-100 per ticket. That would probably cut down on the amount of spectators willing to show up and DP Mag could make a little money back in the process. No ticket purchase at the gates.

Nascar lets fans in the pits and they still work on the vehicles hell the garages would be there if the obstacle course was done at indy
Even nhra just puts up barriers around trailers

But then again the flat bill kids would prolly ruin it

Its enough of a cluster without the general public standing around....

Mike O should enter his 7.3... thats the only one i can think of, and marty's truck 2 years ago LOL.

Should be fun, i hope they change the location, every 2 years swapping locations would be good

King Kong, Godzilla, Matt Mahilo, Corbin, Haddox all have trucks either built or soon to be built that would be cool to see in it. There's a handful of guys who did or are doing builds similar to ErikClaw's winning set up. Roger Smith and Matt Moroni would be cool to see aswell, but they may be too much of a dedicated race truck. Mike O's 7.3 would also be another great competitor. When you think about it, we have a ton of guys with well built trucks who could represent Ford well.

Jared@RCD could also do well with some spray, his truck should be very well rounded.
