I ended up with 472SXE runs just as well as the 67.7 did. Maybe a tad slower to spool but the truck hasn't moved much since the swap so I don't have a ton of driving experience with it.
Well long story short the built long block we bought wasn't in such great shape. So we are building a new motor with a different block and heads. The only thing that we are undecided on is how we want to seal the heads. We are thinking of cutting out a set of stock gaskets and running a fire...
Yes I took it apart what seal? The little thin seals on the plates that surround the gears? Swamps sold me a pump for 260 shipped so I can't complain since I shouldn't have to take it apart. I'll reseal the old one and keep it as a spare at some point. Right now I'm more worried about getting it...
