If my truck is cold is will start like an 05+ but once its up to operating temps will roll into the start.

I think your right with the calibration. now that I about it ive seen a customer truck come in with an 05+motor in a 03 truck. its started like an 03 but even odder. I right now have an 05+ injector in #6 cylinder and power balance is perfect.
