try unplugging the ICP and see if you still have the problem. That will quickly eliminate whether or not its on its way out. My truck had a bad ICP and then the PCM went right after. It sucked.

i run it with no problems. i just dump some 2 cycle oil in the tank as i'm filling it up. Never had an issue. I know another guy who ran it and mixed kerosene with it. truck smoked white all the time like a cold 7.3 but never ruined anything. UPS runs kerosene in their trucks in the winter...

I wouldn't worry about the carbon. DC motors just produce carbon from the brushes. When we get "inop" aircraft parts in, we spray them with contact cleaner. If they work, ship em out. Carbon can cause a short so it would seem like the motor is burnt up.

i didnt want to cut the support under the bed so i just moved the stack behind it. sits about 4in from the bed rail. also, i used a flex pipe 90* because i was afraid of engine torque putting stress on it if it was mounted solid to the bed.
