Will Crank case vent help exhaust smoke??
I have spartan tuner. Definitely has a haze while idle at a light. Just didn't know if vent to rear wheel well area would help? -

When I have my truck on straight pipe it has a steady stream exhaust smoke at idle and under light acceleration. As of now it can only be 2 things in my mind...1) bad turbo seal which will brad rebuilding or 2) blow-by in crank case. The truck hasn't burned any oil in 4,000 miles or... -

Yea I Had the waiting period 30 days 1000mi, it's been about 70 days and 4000mi. I know most make you pay labor until the cause is identified. I also know they cover up to $14k in expenses over the life of the warranty. I wonder if something broke that can be identified, that they will take... -

Aftermarket warranty from Endurance. They were actually really good about replacing my transmission twice in my last truck which was an SRT-10. That is the reason I went back to them. -

Thanks for all the great replies on this thread. I posted a video of the blow by in another thread. I was on the 250 Spartan tune. Truck ran very strong on this tune and seemed way faster than my 6.0 even with my engine situation. Lastly I asked this in the new thread but I'll ask here too... -

thanks for all the great advice. I was running the 250 tune from Spartan. The truck had plenty of power on that tune..Way more power than my 6.0L even with the claimed worn engine this truck has. I was thinking to put my straight pipe back on to stop the regens and get better fuel mileage... -

I asked the dealer the next day after posting on this thread and he said they did a relative as well as manual test and they were even. Not sure how much I believe him but if it was true that would be less of a cause for concern. Also how do you isolate the turbo's? I have no idea how that is... -

Sounds like you know a little about this subject. I don't really know if 20 in is excessive blowby. When you see these videos of 6.4L blowby they look pretty close to mine and some even have more, from the looks of it. I know the dealer is not always correct and I just can't justify them... -

what do you mean? According to relative compression they are all in line with each other. Oil has been pretty steady. I noticed it has dropped a little bit but not much, which would be in-line with the light smoke that I noticed on and off when I had the straight pipe. I have attached the... -

Then that should be good news. Likely I was not smelling correctly and could be vapors? Now with dpf on there is no smoke and before it came out very light almost like a vapor but it would leave a really light trail for only a about 3-5 seconds from a stop -

Good head unit for the money
if you didn't buy yet you should look into kenwood dnx690. For $50 more than your budget it's hard to beat since it has navigation built in with bluetooth, HD radio and so on. I like pioneer but only thing stopping me from getting it is that you have to have phone connected to get navigation...- rrod
