zf6 speed help or clutch issue

The truck is a 2002 7.3 with 6 spd. i have 122k and a con o clutch was put in 10 years ago at 65k. The truck is having an issue where it won't go into gear on when you start it up. While driving, it is not an issue. It will shift fine. I can then shut it off and get back in 20 minutes later...

Any idea what is going on with my clutch?

Hmmm, I have not. But, the pedal does seem to go smoothly through the full travel. Does that matter?

Any idea what is going on with my clutch?

The first issue was that the truck would not go into gear. The clutch felt ok, but truck would not go into any gear. This was after it was parked for a bit. I shut it off, pumped the clutch and it then worked fine. I noticed that the reservoir was empty, so I assumed I had a hydraulics...

Did my clutch hydraulics just fail?

I replaced my hydraulics and all seemed fine. I went for a 10 mile drive. When I got back I went to change gears and it would not shift. I shut the truck off, pumped the clutch 5 times and now it works fine again. Bad part? Air bubble? Big problems?

Will any 7.3 IDM work as a spare?

I am looking to take some parts of a wrecked 7.3. Many things have already been taken, but I believe the IDM is still there. The truck is a 99-03 superduty. I have a 2002. Will the IDM serve as a spare? If so, what is a fair price? Thanks.

Did my clutch hydraulics just fail?

I looked. I did not see anything. I saw that on another site they talk about it leaking internally.

Did my clutch hydraulics just fail?

I just checked and something weird happened. I pumped the pedal a good 5 or 6 times. It felt ok. I started the truck up and the damn thing works fine. The reservoir is still empty, so I don't think my truck just fixed itself. ??

Did my clutch hydraulics just fail?

The pedal does not go to the floor. This happened to me once before and the pedal did go to the floor and I had to lift it up. This time the reservoir is bone dry but the clutch feels off a little, but it does not go to the floor. This time I also have a south bend clutch, which removes the...

Did my clutch hydraulics just fail?

I started the truck, went to put it in gear and no good. It won't go into any gear. I shut the truck off and it will then go into each gear. I popped the hood and the clutch cylinder is empty. Did my hydraulics crap out? Is there something I can fill in there to limp me to a better location or...

Anybody replace their HPOP hoses with this?

Not offended at all. I have asked a lot of clarifying questions to calm my paranoia. I have run at too many "simple" projects that then end up having unforeseen consequeces which could have been avoided with a little more research. Now that I understand more about this, I see that switching...

Anybody replace their HPOP hoses with this?

Ok, sounds like threadlock will be out. What fittings will I need? Is below correct: for the pump side -6ORB to -5JIC straight coupler - quantity 2 for the head side -5ORB to -5JIC straight coupler - 1 quantity of 90 degrees and 1 quantity of straight? Then two hoses that have -5 hoses...

Anybody replace their HPOP hoses with this?

The fact that the OBS uses JIC fittings on their pump makes me feel much more at ease about deleting the quick fits. m j, I will look to see where it was that locktite was highly recommended. I thought for sure it was on the quick fits where they thread into the pump and into the heads...

Anybody replace their HPOP hoses with this?

Just to clarify your answer to about the o-rings, either way there will be o-rings between the pump and jic fitting and the head and jic fitting, correct. This will really just eliminate the quick fit coupler and replace it with a coupler that uses jic threads, correct? I will be eliminating...

Anybody replace their HPOP hoses with this?

I thank everybody for their input and help with trying to decide on how to proceed with the hydraulic lines. Sorry for beating this to death, but I just don't want to switch off from the stock set up and have a problem, but also don't want to miss an opportunity to strengthen the reliability and...

Anybody replace their HPOP hoses with this?

I am looking to make this very close to bullet proof. My stock hoses have been in play since 9/2001, so I am ok with that. I don't want to experiment. But, if there is a trusted upgrade, I am all for it. I'd love to get rid of any weakness like additional o-rings. I do not want to be stuck...

Anybody replace their HPOP hoses with this?

How do most of the aftermarket HPOP systems connect the hoses? Do they use the stock hoses? I am very hesitant to change something that seems to work just fine. But, I have always been concerned about a leak and now that I am going to disturb the system, I'd like to make it as bullet proof as...
