I can't get enough of the details.

Amen on the 2wd valance, I didn't think they could make them more ugly than 11-16's.

Tailgate, not as bad as the last one to remove the trim panel, still not fun. Tailgate weighs a million pounds.

Wetsanded and buffed the frame, all that talk about powder over paint makes me laugh. They can keep their bags of powder, lol.

Little bit of fuel door patch work, somewhat nervous working with aluminum but all went smooth.

Mr. Trevor Hall over at PMF Suspension coming in on that Southwest Airlines freight cargo 12 days before the show! Yes 12 days, damn right I was there at 5am to pick up the parts and get started. First to show up was the subframe, link arms, cross members and a few miscellaneous pieces. Really cool to see how far the quality comes year after year working with PMF. The 2017 Super Duty's provided a clean slate for every manufacture to start with. Everyone had the same time frame, same truck and same opportunity to build their best workings for the Sema show. Somehow the guys at PMF built the only long travel, subframe setup I seen on a 2017 Super Duty at Sema. That in itself is something to be proud of.

Check out some of these pictures, almost a shame to paint many of these parts.

As parts showed up, for the most part they were fitted to the frame, removed prepped and painted the same day. The parts would dry over night and installed the following morning, that is the only reason we finished the truck on time. Many long nights were the consequences, but was all worth it in the end.

Receiver welded all up and filled on both sides, so smooooooth.

Absolutely massive, we figured out 22'' wheels are needed to clear these beasts!

With the major lift components painted we were ready to install, all plumbing, wiring and fuel lines were routed and cleaned up as much as possible. Quite the mess but we got it,

We basically went from a chassis with wiring and air lines laying everywhere, to the engine in, subframe on, link arms in place, axles under the truck, cab on and engine fired in one day. Just 3 of us, little bit more efficient then on the red truck to say the least.

Mike at No limit sent over one of his first intakes for the 2017, fit great. Captured the OEM mounting grommet and sat well, does not rub the hood at all. Plus the filter is blue!

Fuel cell setup,

Brake line tube, speed sensors as well routed through this contraption that is clamped to the driver side upper rear link arm.

The wheels deserve a new post, Specialty Forged designed a new cut for the truck. Concave 26x16'' with 40'' fuel gripper mt tires, not some peoples preference, I understand but the truck was built with the most modern parts available. You don't show up to Sema with 18'' wheels and 44'' boggers lol. We sent paint to Specialty Forged, they sprayed the amazing finish on them.

I am proud to say I wired every single rock light myself lol. It is one of the worst jobs so I took one for the team. 60 blue rock lights were ordered from josh at the diesel cartel. I figured I would use 40 or so, the red truck had 27 I believe. I ended up with either 55 or 56 lights. 6 in each front wheel house, 2 more right in front of the front axle, I think 7 or 8 below the cab on each side pointing towards the subframe. 7 more in the middle of the subframe by the transfer case lighting up the compressors and everything else. Another 4 or 5 per side in each rear wheel house and many more shining down towards the rear axle and link arms. No dead spots unlike the last truck, the box was lowered on and the wheels thrown on around 1 am Saturday morning, two drivers hauled the truck from Minneapolis to Vegas and arrived Sunday morning. Exhausting, but we made it.

IMG_4317.jpg

Just a few splices and soldering on the rock lights, took 10s of hours to get them all in.

Some awesome shots all washed up and loaded up, I was completely drained and had no idea what was going on by this point. All I knew was the truck was on the trailer and my job was done. Lefebvre Bulk Transport hauled the truck enclosed, they do all of our transportation. The same company that picked up this truck up in Detroit and hauled it back to us to start the build. Anyway, they do great work and keep the stress as low as possible. Check out some of these awesome shots, some by a friend of mine.

Little guy first, that truck is on almost 36'' tires, 6'' cognito and 24x12 specialty forged wheels. Looks smaller then stock next to the ford!
