i trail ride my truck i have a 4.5'' lift with 35 toyo mts iv never had a problem with getting stuck or rubbing although i cant compare to a 6'' with 37s cuz iv never had em but if i had to do it again i prob would have waited an bought a 6'' with 37s to have a little more peace of mind with ground clearance

I think I will try this with the 4" and 35's, and make some armor for my tcase and fuel tank.

Really dont want to run an 8" lift just to gain another inch of ground clearance.

No 37's would not clear through full travel on a 4" lift. Unless you do some cutting.

WHY WHY WHY do people continue to say this???

I can twist the *** out of my truck and it does not rub at all other then on the springs at full lock...

Anyone doubt me, come take a ride, you pick the spot and I will twist the *** out of the truck until we loose traction or a tire rubs...

So please someone tell me how you can not run 37's on a 4" lift again...:lookaround:

I don't care what offset you run your either going to clip the bumper or rub on the leafspring with a 4" and 37's

Never said you didnt have to trim the front bumper... I've posted pictures of that before. But you dont even see it unless you look about 18" from the bumper.

And yes the springs have been replaced 3 or 4 times now due to saging. Matter of fact Chelseas springs were replaced a few months ago because one cracked!!!

But every time Revtek has taken care of the issue, and LS has warrantied the labor.:toast:

A coil spring front end will flex more than a leaf spring front end. Atleast my 03 didn't really flex like my 09 does.
You say your going to an 05+ front end, may be something else to consider.

I know there are people that are running 37's on a 4" lift, etc., etc.. but those are exceptions. I wouldnt just accept the validity of claims that "It works just fine" without seeing it for myself.

Yeah, this is what I was talking about. Nobody said you CANT do it. It doesnt work very well though.

Crawling on fairly smooth offroad terrain the 4"/37" combo would be functional. Throw in some rougher surface like a choppy pasture and if you need to turn up past 3mph you WILL bite a spring or fender. The fenders would be chewed pretty damn good on the trailing edge. I ran 40's on a six inch lift so Im all for trying things out of the ordinary but the functionality at any kind of speed was less than if I put a useable tire size on for the six inch lift.

I dont like the idea of jamming a tire on that will 'fit' and then go to cross a steep ditch and find out I cant turn while traversing because Ive only got 15* of useable steering either direction. Kinda defeats the purpose of lifting and putting on bigger tires. These mods were always about GAINING functionality for me not trading ground clearance for maneuverability. Or vice versa.

Fwiw, Ive got 260k on my skyjacker lift and the only thing Ive broken is shocks(duh) and my rear spring pack has a cracked leaf on each side from not running traction bars

I would bet money I have done more and wheeled harder then 90% of the guys on this site... 4" and 37's with proper wheel offset is a perfect match.

But hey, its your truck, if you want to run a 8" lift to throw some 37's on there, go for it... You should put them on 12" wide wheels and 2" of positive offset too, then you can say "see, I still rub with an 8" lift and 37's"

Well duh.

Well duh.

What wheel offset would that be? And what width 37? You know, for the people that wanna run that setup.

There are only certain offsets available, fwiw.

I was getting ready to ask him this also. It's what I really want to put on my truck.

CSIPSD, got any pics?
