So raced against a 04 duramax 4 door 4 wheel drive like mine. He has a built trans and lift pump and turbo. Dyno made 540hp.
I have 64mm street max , s&b intake. 4 " downpipe and Morgans tunes.
We did a boosted launch at 30mph, I held him for first bit, but on the top end he pasted me... And he didn't just creep by either
Was hoping it would be closer . any thoughts ?

Similar power and you're at close to a 1500lb weight disadvantage.

Smart car VS Tank is a good comparison.

The weight advantage as they say and also the duramax likely has 3:73's while you are likely 3:55. Not a game changer but it helps. Damn I wish ford would give us a better gear ratio from factory.

Our trans gearing offsets the rear gear difference.

They do weigh about a 1000lbs less.

Their cp3 has more Ass than our cp4.

Their tuning is far superior at this point.

Ive had duramaxes and I hate that their 15 year old tech is still relevant because the trucks weigh as much as a grand am

Don't feel bad at all. We have been building a LB7 which I am assuming he had. The truck was built with a Non-VGT Turbo with no ECM limitation and with a few hundred dollar bag of parts kit can dump massive amounts of fuel in that motor. He had at least a 1800 lb weight advantage on you and the LB7 lives for high RPM. He has the best piston rod combo that everyone is looking for. Also by building the Allison he took care of his biggest problem. Get with Mike and with a few adjustments you can have him scratching his head wondering what the Hell just happened.
