I need to backdate my rear brakes on my 08 to an 04 so that I can run an 18" rim on my 08. Just lucky enough I still own an 04 that has the original brake calipers on it and were for an 18" rim. It is a 4x4 and my 08 is a 2wd. Any pro's or con's to this that you guys might know of?

It is a 2wd and I am going to get some DOT slicks for the rear. Can't gettem in 20" , a 18" is as small of a rim as will fit them.

Any SD wheel 17in and up should fit a 08 truck.

You might be right. To tell the truth I haven't even tried. Someone told me that you had to backdate the calipers to run 18" on my 08. I will put a 18" on it in the morning and find out. Guess I could have tried that first. Thanks

I was just talking to a guy today who has OEM 17's on his 2012 (ordered it that way.) I always thought 18's were the smallest you could go on '08+ but I learned otherwise apparently.

You only need to backdate for 16s. Theres a lot to it. A lot more than i thought. Kind has done a writeup on it somewhere. Or atleast a partslist
