Hi, new here but not to Ford diesels. I have a 99 7.3 I bought new in 98 it now serves as our work truck. I had a 06 6.0 that I didn't bulletproof and sold at 99k and I have an 12 6.7 as my current truck.
I just picked up a 06 6.0 KR with less than 7000 miles on it and I want to make it my daily driver, something super dependable, fun to drive and reliable with decent mileage for long road trips.
Something that I don't have to mess with than than routine maintenance.

Here are my tentative plans for it:
ARP Head Studs 250-4202

IPR EGR Delete Kit w/Up Pipe
DC Power 190 AMP HD Alternator

Edge 18302 05-07 Ford 6.0L Dash Pod

SCT X3 Power Flash Custom Tuner for Ford 6.0L w/Unlimited Custom Tunes (Quick Tricks)
New Factory Oil Cooler
Turbo Oil Drain Tube
Updated Turbo Feed Line
FICM sent to ficmrepair.com Ultra/Atlas 40

Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor 5C3Z9J460A
HFCM Water Separator Drain Plug Upgrade 6E7Z-9C082-A
MBRP S6214409 4” Turbo Back Cool Duals
Mishimoto Silicone Hose Kit MMHOSE-F2D-05MBL
Slant 10238 Degas Cap
NUC Ford 6.0 Deluxe Bypass Oil Filtration Kit
Sinister Diesel Ford 6.0L Powerstroke Cold Side Charge Pipe
Riffraff Diesel Billet Compressor Wheel 05-07
BPD Titanium Turbo Bolts
I am undecided on the BPD Billet Water Pump

Magnaflux Heads, Vacuum Check the Valve Seals to the Valve Seats & Machine Heads Flat
Change all fluids, bleed brakes until fluid is clean
Clean Turbo
Flush Coolant with Restore & Restore Plus Fill with 50/50 Distilled Water & ELC coolant concentrate (CAT EC-1 Rated)

Anything I am missing, suggestions ect. would be appreciated.

Real nice. Hard to imagine the story of how an 8 year old truck only accumulated 6k miles. How much did you pay if you dont mind me asking?

Besides basic fluids save your money and just drive it. The "bulletproofing" mods in my opinion after owning 3 6 liters are a waste of funds on a good truck.

Definitely pull the turbo apart. The vgt turbos do not like when they sit for a long time. Clean the unison ring and use some anti seize on it when reassembling

I dont even want to think of the problems your going to have if yours is like mine. Mine is an 06 with 70k, I drive it about 3k a year since I have bought it, and I have replaced... The turbo, the ficm, the hpfp, the brakes and all the u joints. The dealer tells me it's because it sits to much. I made it a point to start driving it more this year.

I will be upgrading all of those things and driving it 10k or so a year.

Nice find man. My 06 has treated me very well for the way it got used.

Sounds like a nice build. Should be great for years.

I would send the ficm to swamps and I would use the egr delete, coolant filter and delta kit from Steve at absolute performance. Really no need for the new turbo bolts. You will get new bolts with the turbo drain gasket kit.
