If the truck is mostly stock (no custom tuner), will I get a CEL by deleting the EGR?

the newer version of the sct pt no. 3015,has a option to turn off the egr internally. as long as you dont delete the egr valve, you have a 50-50 shot the truck wont see that its been done. ex: by seting a code for egr performance, and egr insufficent flow. if the the light doesnt come on? there will still be those two codes in the memory all the time.

hope this helps..

Nice job, guys!

Next time pop the block drain plug on the driver side and block heater on the other....it will save a ton of cleanup time.

Studs just arrived...

Waiting on a kit from Elite, then we are going back together this afternoon. Anyone have any tips or tricks? I got a tip to do the first 2 torque sequences today, let it sit over night and finish up in the morning.... Ill probably do that!

Heads and block were at the machine shop and checked out fine, going to make sure they are clean as a babys bottom before going back together though

They weren't even off a .001"? I would have them cleaned up or check the block with a machinist square or round bar to make absolutely sure so it doesn't happen agian. Just trying to look out for you.

I agree. My buddy owns a machine shop and almost all of the 6.0/6.4 heads he gets in are out .0015-.003. I would double check and make sure everything is flat. It makes the difference between having a "bulletproof" truck and doing it again sometime in the future.

I was not in contact with the machine shop. The owner of the truck took care of it, all i know is not much was done there. I took them the block and the heads.

But then again, i dont believe the headgaskets were blown to begin with, everything is leading to a plugged oil cooler or something similar to that.

Remember i never diagnosed anything on the truck, the owner simply asked me to do a headgasket job and bullet proof it. He thought the gaskets were going, but i dont see the signs
Are you suppose to do a hot retorque like the guys do on the 7.3's?
Lets hope not!

Okay truck is all hooked up and ready to fire, just wont haha.

Spins over good, no odd noises, we turned the key on 5 or so times before ever cranking it over and definitely dont have any fuel leaks or anything.

Probably have done 7-8 cranks of 10+ seconds with about 10 minutes in between. No smoke or anything, has never tried to start... just cranks and cranks and cranks
