Had to move some firewood tonight so while the truck was warm i threw AE on it and did some digging. New to the SD CCT/rotational velocity(used to an OBS which is pass/fail), and it didn't save my datalogs. But it was showing injectors 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 all between 0 and 0.5%. 4 and 6 were 1.2-1.5, cylinder 8 was 5.4. So does that mean i have an issue with cylinder 8?

Well i found my issue. Whats the cheapest way to fix this? The tank itsself is very clean so i hate to throw it out. Can i just clean/boil it and throw it back in?

I'm talking about cleaning and re-using the tank, not this stupid mixing chamber BS. Planning on doing the "hutch mod" to get rid of all that crap. And i'll eventually do a full fuel system on it like i have on my OBS. Being a crew cab C&C i have all the room in the world to mount **** on the frame. LOL

I just wish the poly tanks weren't so expensive, looks like they range from $600-$1k for a Titan replacement tank which has them waaaayyy out of my price range.

Should i worry too much about getting it re-sealed, or will it be good to go once i clean it? Need this truck going ASAP as my BTS VB showed up today so my OBS needs some shop time.

Small update. Cleaned the tank out pretty good, blew out all the lines, and put my pressure gauge on. Pressure would jump up to 60, then the pump would get quiet and drop down to 30, then back up to 60ish. Put on a new pump today and now it seems to be good. Running a LOT better, and has decent power. Still blowing a bit of blue smoke though. Its worse when its cold, clears up some as it warms up and cruising down the road its smoke free. Been about 75 miles since i swapped injectors so i'm pretty sure that any fuel/oil blown into the exhaust from that is burned out. Must be a piston/ring issue.

This truck still has me scratching my head. Put 60 miles on it today moving equipment around, i'd imagine grossing 20k or so. When its cold it does its normal white/blue smoke, as it warms up it turns to blue and lightens up. At an idle or low RPM's it has a blue haze. Start getting in the throttle and it clears up. Running around town the smoke starts to get intermittent, at times it'll have a decent haze and other times it'll go a while and i'll only get an occasional puff of smoke. Then i noticed that if i'm in the throttle pretty hard it clears up a LOT, and north of 2500 rpm's its completely smoke free and runs pretty good. Assuming it is a piston issue, why would the smoke come and go?

But it doesn't look like i'll be doing a compression test for a while, have a bunch of **** to get done this week and i doubt this 450 will even get unhooked from a trailer. Originally i had plans to fix it and sell it for a nice profit, but i don't think i can get rid of it now. LOL

Does it still have a muffler and or cat? If so, it could still be burning oil/fuel out of the exhaust from the injector swap. If not, turbo seal would be an idea, beyond that, rings/valve seats.

Truck is straight piped, no cat or muffler. I thought about oil in the exhaust but its been well over 130 miles since i did the swap.

I should add it still has a slight miss to it and seems a little doggy in lower RPM's. But when i hooked AE up to it the other day it worked for a bout 5 minutes then quit communicating and i haven't had a chance to try it since. Just seems like all the problems are in the lower rpm's, get RPM's up and it smooths out, stops smoking, and makes about as much power as i think a stock 7.3 should make.

That sounds like it could be low compression. How much blowby do you have?
