The badges are still there, just painted to match the truck. I like how they turned out.

I pulled the lights apart and painted them, ya. They turned out pretty decent too

i dont mean to derail, but can you take a close up of your badges, and wht kind of prep did you need to do once you got inside the lights?

Ya I'll get some tomorrow. Just primed the badges, but I sanded the lights. Looking back, I would have spent time priming the bezels in the lights rather than sanding.

I have 55W 4300K bulbs from Retro Solutions with Morimoto 5Five ballasts and harness from The Retrofit Source.

Pics are not exactly what I see looking through the windshield. The light is more even .. hot spots are not nearly as noticable.

I didn't want ANY blue, 4300k is supposed to be close to sunlight.
It's easy on the eyes and shows good contrast.
55W will wash out more of the blue color compared to a 35W system.

why did you go with the morimoto ballasts?

Their customer service is great, I had called a few times before purchasing.
Price was also good and they have very high reviews for quality and durability.

The Morimoto harness is pretty unique too. Thicker wiring and two relays do if something goes wrong only one light goes out

How does morimoto bulb system work? I can't find anything for h13/9008. Do you have to get a conversion kit or something?

Unless you do a full retro you can't use Morimoto bulbs. He used bulbs from retrosolutions and got the ballasts from theretrofitsource.

Where can I buy the relay harness? It powers the lights with direct battery power right?

You'll be back to regular bulbs. The longer some of you have HIDS the more you'll see why I no longer run them.

I have had the same set of ddm hids in 4 trucks in 5 years they have never even flickered. That's why I will buy ddm again

I had retros, maybe I should have went with the cheaper ones. Even if they worked right I was tired of the attention they draw to the truck at night.
