I let my fuel get pretty low and as usual had some trouble (slight stuttering) starting this morning. After I re-fueled when I went to start there was a very loud clicking/grinding noise. After another try I got it started and everything ran fine. I ran it pretty hard and shut it down. When I re-cranked there was still the same click/grind only less severe.

Would this have anything to do with possibly air in the line?

Any help/info is much appreciated.

Thanks

The air should self bleed if you ran it out, but the damage may already be done. Get some 2 cycle oil /stanadyne/your choice of fuel lube in with a tank. Maybe also check you fuel filter. Then pray.

I've never ran one out, so I've never heard it after, can't tell you what the sound is. All I know is that fuel acts as the injector piston's cushion. Firing without a cushion is equivalent to dry firing a bow. Good luck.
