Especially with 175/75's. I just don't think a single non vgt can put those numbers down with those size injectors on fuel.

Idk Greg...I don't know or have heard of anyone with a non vgt and 175/75's making nearly 590hp on fuel...and be very streetable. To make that amount of HP with a non vgt I would just think you'd need a bigger injector than a 1175/75. Obviously the size of the turbo plays a role

Great job man! As Adrian alluded, as any experiment goes, it would be very nice to see this repeated by other builds.

If you run the math from my posts on the web as twoicebergs:

Flow rate (lbs/hr) = (Max HP x BSFC)/(number of injectors x duty cycle)
Typical duty cycle is 85-90%. DC is efficiency related, not just ON-OFF.
BSFC = lbs/hp/hr (0.37 is a very reasonable for a 6.0 diesel)
A litre of diesel fuel weighs 0.832kg or 1.834lbs.

(590hp x 0.37lb/hp/hr)/(8 x 90%) = 30.32lb/hr (90% duty cycle)
30.32lb/hr / 1.834lbs/lt = 16.53lt/hr or 275.53ml/min (90% duty cycle)
275.53ml/min/1600inj/min/1000shot = 172.21ml (or cc)

Or 600hp could be made with 175.13cc injectors. Of course, it all has to come together.

I feel like such a newbie...

Buddy of mine just had some 175/stock nozzle injectors installed recently. He was told that injector and a 64mm turbo will make 600hp.

You do realize a stage 4 is far larger than a 64mm inducer right? Nate Berges made over 600 on fuel with 225s and a gates 64/71 years ago fyi

I was trying to read it on my phone and said "I'm just gonna have to wait until I can get to my desk and close my door so I can focus on this post some more" LOL

And Greg...you do realize that that 617hp was made being live tuned by Eric on ID's dyno just after Nate made 548hp with the exact same setup. Eric found nearly another 80hp just through live tuning it. Plus 225's should put out more fuel and make more power than 175's anyways.

Exactly my point... ?

cant go comparing a 175/75 and a 71mm vs a 64mm and 175/75's Throw a 371 into the mix with 175/75's and its a different story.

And another thing that that vgt has that that 371 won't have will be street manners. I'd love to see someone daily drive with a 371 and 175's. Haha I bet that'll be fun.

everyone thought street driving 225s and a 66 was impossible, I drive around with no more smoke than 190s and a stock turbo. Its all in the tuning.

If that's your point...then why try comparing 175's vs 225's. What I was trying to get at Greg... is that my buddy was told that a 175/stock nozzle injector and a 64mm turbo will make 600hp when a 175/75 with a MTW stage 4 can't even do it with the stage 4 pushing more air than the 64. So why bring Nate's 64mm 225 setup into the mix?
