Groomzy...can you spec out what a HX50 is comp/turbine inducer/exducer, what AR you had on it (it's in cm on HXs right?), and what injs you had?

Revisiting this thread because i was told that a 7.3 can't make 650hp, but now i am making it a goal, now with 250/200's and an S467 and supporting mods is this do-able?

I have a forged rod motor so is billet rods still needed? And doesn't an s467 with a 1.15 housing flow more than a 71mm?

Must have billets for 600+ dd imo trust me (see avatar) I dont know if a s467 will be enough. May be good enough for just north of 600.

mad diesel's avitar is a rod at 550 horse so i'd say if you want it to be reliable then year you need billet. there are a lot my turbos than just borg warner turbos. i think 300/200's, gtx4294, srp1.1 would be a mean combo. don't know why you want to daily drive a 650 horse truck though

Ahh i see, and the home built trans was on a budget while i was in college because i wasn't making enough money to eat hardly so a trans will be part of the build, i would like to run a 75mm but i feel like that's a lot to run by itself

My last setup was a 76mm precision turbo and 350ish cc/36lpm nozzles thats about 200 I think b-codes. no idea what it made for horsepower But you could dd no problem im at 4800 ft. And I picked it up in Denver CO. Like this it would make 50 to 60 pounds. Here got 16.1 mpg coming back from Denver. And it was on stock rods.. beat on it every day tell I destroyed that turbo.

Not saying the rods are not going to let go they will but so far so good..

My new turbo is a GTX4294R it is my hi pressure.. and fully built. Rods heads half fill.

But this truck dose not tow at all and it does get hot fast under the old turbo..

Hope this help good luck.

Billet Rods, Girdle, Studs, Valve Springs, SRP1.1 or equiv, fuel mods, 350/200% nozzles, and a S468 turbo.

It'll get you to 600+. There are guys on here making more on the same setup. Especially if you spray it.

I wouldn't use forged rods for that kind of build. People are doing it on stock rods, but for how long is anyones guess. LOL
