Is this a daily driven truck?

Reason I ask-- I just made a trip to Oklahoma back to Arkansas after reading this thread and paid real close attention to my spool up in city, on Highway and everywhere really... I couldn't live with anything now these days that didn't spool almost instantly from the stop light. Let alone 1800rpm...

Just curious-- not bashing.

I've just found with several very expensive 6.7L builds the owner finds peace with mediocre performance to justify the time and money spent. Dan comes to mind.... lol. A 1000hp truck that wouldn't spool a singer sewing machine. But when it did... yarn went everywhere!

My truck is completely daily drivable and spools awesome. I honestly don't feel like anything was sacrificed from a stock truck. AC blows cold, can sit in traffic, doesn't smoke like a train, and makes a ton of power.

I'm more than happy with mine, instant spool, plenty of power( for now lol) and no smoke......

I drive my truck daily in and around NYC and I could not be happier, it took quite a bit of tweaking to get it the way I wanted but I am more then happy with the spool and drivability of the truck.

So where see you guys spooling at? I know 4 ever boosted truck spools like a dream. But 1800rpm is unacceptable especially if towing. Reason I point this out is because I watched on this forum mikey try multiple turbos until he found a content turbo that spooled properly.

I'm just asking question.... One of these days when I get bored I wanna put a turbo on but I don't wanna reinvent the wheel or put a in properly sized turbo on because someone's false contentment of their build. Holding it to the floor and saying man this thing really lights is 1% driving. If that.

I suppose there needs to be a new thread with guys builds with what honestly works well with proper spool time. Ect ect.

Maybe the ops here can start a sticky thread for guys like you to put up what you've done and works well with real data numbers like spool time vs rpm. Ect ect ect.

I don't doubt there are very good builds that spool well. But trying to tune around a improperly sized turbo makes life difficult!

I think most of that info. is in the build thread. I do know Matt spent quite a bit of time with Morgan live tuning.......

After all that I would still like to know how your truck is running and what you think of your kit.

Truck is running great. Like I said I like the instant spool and low smoke. Still looking for a dyno to see what It will do.

Egts seem a little high crusing at 75 (950*-1000*) @1600 rpm. If I lock out 6th rpm comes up to 2100 and egts drop under 800*. I will eventually switch to 4:10 gearing.

Anyway still happy with the power but I'm keeping a close eye on your build and Chris's...........

Waiting on a new Tune from Tadd today with a few more refinements. Need to take away some low boost fuel and tighten up the vanes on the bottom would be my guess but I'm not the expert at all. I'm really interested like you in the other builds. No so much the twins or triples but the singles really interest me. There is not enough info after the install. Seems like everyone disappears a week after the install or stop giving driving reports. IMO

After I try out the next Tune setup possibly. I would like to get some more drive time on it before I do the Dyno again. Plan on going to PBI Raceway tomorrow night if I have the Tune and the rain stops. Nothing but rain all week.

Seek his build thread for that information. I record a number of videos on every build so there are no questions on how it spools and drives.

Got the new Tune to try from Tadd. Installed it but it's raining so hard went around a few blocks and came back to the garage. Traction control light works. LOL
