Get ahold of me if you want non vgt. I have a batch of t4 pipes coming up In a few weeks I can get your order in.

Great thing about non vgt is once you have the up pipes you can changs turbos easy and pretty cheap compared to vgts. Or change exhaust housings etc.

The way mine sounds make it worth it alone. Now that I have my exhaust leak fixed and gearhead tunes I will say there's no way in hell a 68vgt spools much quicker than mine. Once the tracks open up I'm going to start a thread and get people to do non boosted 4x4 launches. The 60' and 330' will tell the tale on how different setups spool.

Don't quote me on this but I think Matt (cutting edge diesel) can get you everything you need with a s362 for around $1500. Then you sell your old chit. It's a no brainer.

Truck is daily driven and I want to know what turbo would be best for the $ I was thinking a s366 but not sure I have 190/30 injectors studded bullet proof ficm and Sct tunes threw innovative.

My stock turbo boost around 35lbs what am I gonna expect with a new one.

You have already had a bunch of great advice. I will just add to it a little.

35lbs of boost on the stock turbo is way out of its efficiency range. Most guys see 24-30lbs. The only reason I mention that is that you might not see a huge boost increase with a new turbo. 35-40lbs of boost is plenty for 600hp.

190/30s will be a little limiting on the nozzle size... but still a very good sized injector IMO. Lots of guys running them and really like them. They seem to make very good clean power. It is possible to hit 600hp... but I would not bet on it. I have ran 175/stock, 175/75, 285/75, and 190/30... my favorite combo so far is 190/30... But I do a lot of Daily driving in a big metropolitan area and plan on doing a lot of towing.

Like was mentioned before... getting rid of those 37s will really help.

It sounds like you are leaning towards non-vgt turbos but you asked about drop-in turbos. Let me know if you have any questions or need any pricing on some drop in vgt turbos.

We sell a lot of 190/30 + KC 64mm stage 2 turbo combos (drop in turbo). Makes lots of power, really fun to drive, runs very clean, and can still tow anything... BUT... you are probably going to be in the 530-580hp range.

190/30 + KC 68mm stage 3 turbo will get you closer to 600hp (550-600hp) but you will still be limited on the fuel side. Also it gets really hard to tow big loads up any grade once you get into the stage 3 68mm vgt range.

I've never seen a truck making less than 40psi have track times to back up 600hp.

Don't know what to tell you. I have lots of guys that have dyno and track numbers in the 35-40psi range that put them above the 600hp mark.

Agreed, plenty of truck make it to the 600hp mark pushing less or right at 40psi...I have a customer at the shop with a STOCK turbo with 175/75s making 540hp on 35s (used to be 37s)...have no clue how, but it does. My past truck had 175/75s and a MTW pos stage 2 and it only made 490hp. I think for the OP that the injectors are going to limit you to the 600hp mark, also note that it takes a bunch to get to 600hp! I think you should also look more into the VGT side of things, the VGT turbos out there from Barder or KC are crazy good turbos and flow lots of air. Non-Vgt turbos are easier to deal with, but can be really laggy (larger non vgts) especially for towing...Look into Holders Diesel for bigger injector sizing, 190s, or even 205s with a smaller nozzle like I have may be to your advantage that way if you ever do want to go to higher hp, you could switch nozzles and go to a 205/100 or 125 nozzle. Just my .02:thumbup:

I don't have much time on my truck since I had it apart, but I haven't seen any more than 28 psi with 190/30s and an S2 VGT.

I built it from a GT4088 with a .72 A/R cover and an 03 turbo. I used KC parts and had it balanced through them as well. I do have a Autometer boost gauge, seems pretty consistant with my Edge. I am running the TSD SPD tune.

Here are just a couple of other guys that frequent this forum... I am pretty sure every one of them made right around 600-700hp with less that 40psi, fuel only.

Mike (stonepusher)
Oliver Odawg
Charlie (me)
Keith W
Eric B
(there are plenty more and I don't mean to leave anyone out... but that was just quick off the top of my head)

I know a ton more guys that did it right around 40-45psi...

Here is another guy... I don't remember his name but he works with TSD and was doing some turbo testing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-SpZyjJBgo

I had one customer get live tuned from TSD... he made right around 615 at 38psi and then Chris turned up the boost to around 45psi and he made 645hp.

Most guys I know running gearhead and TSD tunes seem to have lower boost and still make great power. IDP seems to make the highest boost and slightly more power... but many guys hate his trans tuning. I would not limit HP to a certain boost level. There is more than 1 way to skin a cat and different tunes will run different.

Any slips?

Did you see any of the names and videos I posted? Or the other guy that posted?

Plenty of slips out there. Go ahead and do your research. No reason to derail this thread any further.
