I agree w/Garrett. Regardless of what it is, if your in there just replace it all. I got all my parts for $75.

davey99, is the slop in your lever back and forth, or up and down? If it's back and forth, it may be a broke shaft and not the bushings.

I was looking at the "turd" ( around my house, this is what we now refer to the back-up plow truck as, thanks to Garrett ) and noticed a large piece of aluminum laying where it shouldn't be. It tuns out the back end of the shaft is broke off. This is why, in the turd, the lever is sloppy back and forth.

This is the chunk that broke off beside the shaft I replaced in the plow truck.

So now that I know what I'm doing, I get to do it all over again to the turd. :redspotdance:
Mines sloppy as in up an down. Where are you guys getting the new shafts from, an how much are they? I bought the truck like this, an its bugged me since the 1st time I drove it, an after seeing your post its got me wanting this fixed

I paid $63.20 for everything, but I get a 10% discount at my local Ford dealership, so your cost will very.

These prices are all list.
shaft - $17.18
housing - $40.85
two bushings - $4.08 each

I would also replace the rear clamp (closest to fire wall) that goes over the bushing. I believe this gets a lot of stress because it was also broke.
clamp - $12.82

Hope this helps.

Nice thing about a faded white truck in the winter is the salt doesn't show up. LOL My truck looks clean, but feels like a sheet of sandpaper. Wish i had the 7.3 back so it could be the one rotting away instead of my white beast.
