Just a small update. Trucks been at Ford since 12/23/13. It died on the road and is acting just like my '07 did when an injector crapped out. Truck had been eating coolant slowly and throwing codes for underboost and FICM performance.

Ford says it's just probably jelled up - I had 50/50 blend in the tank with Howes mixed in. I went later in the day and fired it right up just to see if she'd start. Started and ran smooth. It was about -30*F that day.

Truck has been sitting unplugged in temps ranging from 35*F to -45*F (with wind) Hope to find out something this week. In the mean time I bought a '98 F150 ECSB 4.6L as a dd but it needs work and soon.

Got the call from Ford $6500.00 to fix it, called around and cheapest I've found was $4700.

FICM bad
EBP harness chaffed
#2, 4, and 6 balance/contribution
EGR cooler failure
EGR valve leaking
Oil cooler
MAP/BARO code
Turbo underboost

Warrenty covers nothing.

Since I can't afford to fix it and my dad likes the truck my folks are going to buy it and fix it as they have time - at least that's the plan. So the F150 gets some TLC and I'm going to save my $$ for an older truck. NO MORE 6.0s!

So sick of truck shopping.

Fwiw...if you can fix it yourself...based on what you listed...you're looking at around 12-1500 in parts...

That's easily under a 2,000 dollar fix.

I agree fellers. Keep it, fix it, and let's keep this build going. Good way to get an idea how your pickup ticks with this project!

Thing is I don't even have an extra $2000 laying around. I was hoping my warrenty would cover some of it. So instead of paying for a truck to just sit my plan is to let my parents have it and just put what little money I have left into my F150 repairs and take what I was paying and save it for another diesel later in the year. At least that's my plan but things do change.

Ok so after pulling down tons of OT and making some changes finance wise I'm going to start fixing the truck. I'm waiting to hear back from RCD about a couple things. I'm going to try to get my company mechanic to help me pull my turbo and injectors this week if we can find time/shop space.

The plan:
RCD rebuild my injectors into 175/stock
RCD egr delete and oil cooler
SCT with canned tunes (for now)
Driven diesel regulated return
Swamps 58v FICM
Needed gaskets for repairs

Anything else y'all can think of?

Now it's going to be slow and as I have time/space to work on it. I'm also going to see if my mechanic would be willing to do studs down the road and submit the bill to the warrenty.

Everything got pulled from the 350 and put on the 150. Only thing going back will be the CTS when the time comes.

Aside from some free stuff I'm gonna try this is it for a bit. Gotta rebuild the ol' bank account.

I'll be painting my CAI and putting it in on Sunday I think.

I'm hoping to have the funds for an Absolute coolant filter by months end. After that it's rims, leveling kit & tires.
