What kind of traction bars are some of yall running on your trucks? How long are they? Who made them, how hard was the install, how much were they, how they holding up, etc
Caltracs. The install was pretty easy, took a few hours. Cost about $420us plus shipping and they arrived fast. I like how they are easy to adjust if I hook onto a trailer
Farmboy fabrications.
485 shipped
Im not sure exactly how long they are but they are pretty long.
They do what they are intended for and are holding up great. Install took about 4 hours drilling the frame and welding the brackets to the axle tubes.
Unfortunatly I don't think you can get them anymore, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
OUO adjustables with 9" block and have had them for over 2yrs and havent had any issues with them and still look good. Install was probably almost 3hrs with having to drill the frame and allign the axle under the truck with the adjustable top plate. And they were 1500+ shipping
Jessie at Farmboy stopped doing his business last year. Farmboy had a face book page also and he stated on it that they were moving from Lakeland Fl. to some other part of Florida but I do not know if it ever happened.
I have the PMF ones and Love them. it was around 950 shipped 4.5" blocks in the back. Total install time around 4 to 5 hours.
I got a set from bean about a year ago that he had made for one of his trucks and never put them on... there a webbed tube design about 6' or so... weld to the axle and shackle style on the frame... thinkin bout gettin rid of the shackles though.. any thoughts? they're a heavy set and cost about $600... not sure if he has any more though.
We built a set on a customers truck. there 2 1/2" square tubing with 1/4" wall tubing. its a 4door long bed so the bars were 6 1/2 ft long. used Barnes 4wd bushings and tube inserts. can get a link if yall need some or PM me. and got the brackets made at a machine shop.
b4 labor he had around 400-450 in everything including powerdercoating them.
and there adjustable.
I had planned on building my own and getting everything from Ballastic . It was gonna be around $500 before i even turned on my welder . Since the Caltracs were fairly cheap I went that route instead .
