Idk. I've seen 6.4's bend way more rods than 6.0's and still not have blown gaskets. They just didn't seem to exit stage right. Just bend, tick and be low on compression. 6.4 was built way to strong. Got us a little spoiled.

6.7 has a lot going for it... in 5yrs, I think 6.7's will be the hot-rodder's choice vs. the 6.4 for the weight and head flow...

6.4's are awesome, I absolutely love them and just bought my 4th... but a big part of that is how potent they are from the factory and the fact that I can buy a fully loaded 6.4 truck for $10-15k less than an equivalent 6.7

But once all these trucks start getting some age on them, prices come down, and low mile 6.4's aren't so plentiful, I think the 6.7 is going to be the hot-rodder's/builder's Powerstroke.

I HOPE they continue to run the 6.7 well into the next emissions tier, as it will give us newer/cooler parts from the factory and keep the price of a new shortblock and head down. Think GM's LS family.

the local diesel tech said the 6.7 has 5yr left.

The diesel tech has no clue, he's just speculating. I'm a tech as well and they don't give us that kind of information.

Thats pretty much how it goes. Slowly more 6.4s are popping up in my area, 6.0's are the hot rods (aka young kids buying to dog the piss out of), and the 7.3 is chump change. Soon it will progress up one more step, and more 6.7's will pop up and so on

yup, and when 6.4's are no longer anywhere near "current", and quality/OEM parts are less available and more expensive, the 6.7 will be that much more attractive

we're really just now starting to see what they're even capable of

cylinder head flow is something the powerstroke camp hasn't really ever known or experienced

Ahh come on now. It's more like people just haven't spent the time to make head flow. It's there, they just have to work at it a little. How you think that big white pull truck does so good!

with that said, Cummins keep the 5.9CR architecture for 5yrs... the 6.7 now for 7yrs and counting

It would be awesome for everybody involved if Ford can run the 6.7 for a decade or more.
