Pffft. Socal. I like right where I am at just fine in Ohio. Right out in the middle of where all the real diesel power is made.

Beach less than an hour away (and no traffic) and swamps even closer.

Not ours.

.
Haha those beaches you talk about out there look like cesspools, and the swamps/lakes are littered with gators. Who the eff would want to worry about being eaten when they're to enjoy them selves?

Gulf Coast beaches look like cess pools? That's news to me (and the millions of tourists that visit each year). And if you get eaten by gators in the swamp, you're doing it wrong. You should be eating them.

If you somehow manage to get yourself eaten by a gator you probably weren't contributing much to the cause of humanity in the first place. Gators thin out the riffraff...I see nothing wrong with that. :D And it's not like we don't have 'em here, either...remember "Reggie"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harbor_City,_Los_Angeles#Reggie_the_alligator LOL

They shoulda left that sumbich where he was instead of taking him to the zoo.

Gonna be around 80* in SoCal again today...with low humidity. :p

"Reggie" Doesn't count haha.
My co-worker lives out in Houlma, La. The first few times working together he was telling me about himself, and showing me pictures of life in La. It really would be a place I'd like to check out, but living there wouldn't be for me. I think the humidity alone would kill me.

I've actually got some canned alligator meat that a friend bought me as a joke. It says "canned in Colorado". You know how big those Colorado gators get! LOL

Houma is about an hour South of me. During the Spring/Summer I see a couple alligators sunning on the shoulder of the highway almost every trip down there. :D

Yeah, South Louisiana isn't for everybody for sure, but I love it here. Here's some pics I took on LA Highway 3147 one morning while delivering a lifeboat. The first couple of pics are of a crawfish farm, something I hope to own one day. :D Pics 8 and 9 are of a bald eagle. They also have a large bald eagle's nest in Houma right off one of the highways: http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a186/imelmo/LA Highway 3147 Pics/?start=all

I've got awesome Gulf Coast casinos, beaches, swamps, awesome fishing and hunting, crawfish, the French Quarter, and 4 quarter mile tracks all within an hour of me.

.

Drive thru liquor stores and daiquiri shops. :D

This! :whs:

What's not to love? Best part it's, if you get tired of going to the beach, there is plenty of great river spots.

Casinos, great food, not a dull moment, and you can get anywhere without sitting in hours of traffic.
