Needs some help buddy just did studs, springs, push rods, injectors, turbo fuel system. Now the truck white smokes bad at idle and driving.. If you get on the truck it starts to come Alive then cut out... Unplugged the #6&8 injector smoke goes away.. We have tried a new set of injectors from cass that did not fix the problem... Injector cup or???? It's a 97

Something with the cup as you said would be my bet as you have already ruled out a injector and isolated it to two cylinders. Does it have a compression test done on it?

Injector cup, or maybe when you swapped injectors the copper washer stayed in the cup an you now have 2 copper washers cuz of the new injectors? Those would be my first 2 tries.

Try pulling the valve covers and put a level across them to see if they're seated correctly (or if there's two copper rings under one).

You won't be able to "see" any copper because it's on the tip of the injector.

Pull them out and pressurize the cooling system to check for cup cracks.

Or, compression test. That's my .02

You said you tried brand new injectors, brand new orings as well?

 install new 250s during build problem was there.... Pulled the injectors installed a full new set the problem is still there... There was no cooper left in the cup and we did the level before we pulled the inj when the problem first came...

The plug that plugs into the gasket was melted a little so we tried a new one no change. Going to try a new vc an wiring tonight.

still have the constant SES/CEL?

assuming you didn't replace it with a Dorman gasket...if you still have a constant SES/CEL illuminated...

then it's either an injector problem (bad solenoid, or poor armature to solenoid clearance<look for contact from armature to solenoid)...or an IDM issue...or...some crazy jacked up wiring between the IDM & VC gskt(s).

OHM out the IDM connector. What codes are you getting for the SES light?

Dave,

What is the issue with the Dorman VC gaskets?

We are gonna do a compression test and ohm it today.. Last night we tried changing Idm, cam sensor, vc gasket , vc gasket plug. Changed those two injectors for the 3rd time.. An also tried Change solenoids.. When you unplug those two the idle does not change..

I have read several reports of them being defective.

I am not following the logic on how a wiring issue is causing white smoking that is stopped by unpluging injectors 6 and 8.

But that stops the white smoke?
