It also reduces the heat from the friction of forcing the oil from not one, but two pumps through one IPR. The IPR outlet line on a set of one brand of duals was incredibly hot, melting any plastic parts associated with the fittings. It was also a pretty small line. My opinion is it was causing...

At this point in the discussion I'm very surprised that an isolated/dedicated hydraulic fluid system using a hydraulic fluid reservoir and high flow high pressure hydraulic pump hasn't been thrown into this conversation. Lott once told me he had designed (made?) a plate that allowed attachment...

Need APPS info?

Switching to a later PMT1 computer and tunes is probably the only way out of that one. E99 computers had a pretty lame trans control/shift map from what I remember tuners telling me.

Opinions on auto tranny issue

Thanks high country, According to the builder when I spoke to him a couple years ago it has a custom valve body. The receipt for the trans says it had a Vasco steel forward drum, Super Heavy Duty Converter (custom built according to the shop owner) with a billet front cover, heavy duty bearing...

Popping out of 4low manual xfer case

So as long as I'm pulling the trans I may as well fix this issue too. xfer case pops out of 4low requiring kind of holding the lever especially under load. My 96 had this issue too. Any ideas what the cause is and the fix? thanks.

Did a little detective work and found a pdf here http://powerstrokearmy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1818 Stock warm idle duty cycle is 8-16%. With a higher flow pump I would think it would be even less, so 30% is really, really high. Stock full load is less than 50% duty cycle so you're good...

Opinions on auto tranny issue

I'm starting to think possibly it might just be the TC, although that was a custom built triple disk billet job. The reason I'm thinking it might be the TC is a couple years ago my trans cooler lines rubbed against each other and were leaking really bad for about 120 miles before i became aware...

OP, you mentioned you checked ICP and DC, could you post those numbers and also any codes you found? I'm not super familiar with where DC should be but I know others are. Your DC with the T500 is prob different than a stock pump so that should be taken in to account.

Also o-rings would easily explain the intermittent numbers. Depending whether the engine had just been running or is cold would affect if the injectors are holding good ICP or not. I have not seen any mention of checking for codes but I would be surprised if he doesn't have low ICP codes. He has...

yes, especially since you recently did an injector swap. I've had orings go within a couple hundred miles of being replaced due to improper seating of injectors.

Not necessarily, your injectors can bleed down ICP after shut down, which in turn causes hard starting until ICP comes back up. Your ICP numbers will be fine, but the IPR duty cycle might show some compensating. You also might find a code for low ICP.

CAC boots and clamps

Especially with Beans billet plenums. I can't imagine fighting a really stiff boot on, new silicone boots were bad enough. I considered taking my plenums off and machining a bevel or radius on the outside edge. A two piece intake seems like it might help also, I know it would make some work...
