    I totally agree with you. I'm stock (tune only) but did 3.5 dp and killed the kitty. My lower egts have been the only benefit.

    Congrats on the new truck! I did pretty much what your wanting to do when I got my 04. I had 43K and dumped the gold and flushed tons of times with distilled and replaced with ELC rated coolant along with a coolant filter.

    I will add this too. When I upgraded all the wiring, I noticed the truck spin the starter a lot faster.

    I did a DYI wiring upgrade similar to this http://www.ficmrepair.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=results/category_id=23/mode=cat/cat23.htm I think he's talking about the connector that connects to the alt., three wires I believe.

    Popping in front end

    Had similar popping noise on my 04, replaced sway bar bushings and end links but that didn't help. Shock bushing were gone, replaced with Bilstein 5100's and no more noise.

    I've worked on both 7.3 and 6.0, both relatively easy to work on IMO. I'm no mechanic by no means but I'm not afraid to get dirty either.
