7.3 Bore wear with Clevite Mahle plasma moly rings

I am posting pics of bore wear on a 50k mile engine I had built with head studs, comp 910s and Smith Bros' a while back. The engine was removed from my wrecked F350 and I am in the process of adding a cam and resealing the engine to put in my 95 I have purchased. There appears to be minor...

    Burning oil/ oil in fuel

Being a 1995.... With a 155k on the clock I would steer towards dried out valve guide seals that are leaking.. I have a 95 F350 RCLB that does the same thing.. Newer borgwarner TP38 but hazes at idle.. Drive it hard and it goes away.. Dead give away of either worn injectors or valve guide seals...

    Mechanically Injected 7.3 Trucks Info/Pictures

The drive flange is quite interesting, I'd wonder what it came off of.. I have a P3000 off DVT800 right now, You can build a 3000 up 14mm with a quick rate cam and 6k springs and that will do more than enough in just about any class a single charger 7.3 can do. I have one with 13mm stuff in it...

    Possible cracked block?

A set of flowed 135cc from Full Force is like 1100 bucks.. Stupid not to put them in.. I mean half of all your engine performance depends on how well they actually work..

    Ultimate Callout Challenge

Oh there's love... There's no substitute for raw "cc's" of fuel.. I'll be shocked when common rail start's to out do the P-pump design.

    Wrecked my beloved OBS!!!!

I trailered the truck home from the parking lot I drove it too, which the accident occurred only a 1/4 mile from my shop parking lot. It's currently sitting at the house. I'm settling for no less than at least 9000. Tennessee is not a "no fault" state and the other driver who was an insured...

    Wrecked my beloved OBS!!!!

On Thursday night just after midnight I was traveling home from work, and was crossing I24 on Fesslers Lane in Nashville when another motorist ran a flashing red light and I t-boned him in the drivers door. i had the right of way as it was a flashing yellow light at the intersection. I was ok...

TUNERS, who wants to remotely live tune aprox 1000hp drag truck?????

I would consider Bill from PHP or Matt from ********.... Both have their hands in a few trucks right now that are 7.3s that have already broke the 1000hp on fuel only single turbo trucks..

    Restoring Stolen Truck

I'd definitely have a lawyer involved, this isn't a honda civic, it's a damn near $70k truck, and I know the feeling... Have had my vent windows shattered twice on my 97 obs so scum bags could steal a radio, have had my lockouts stolen, front drive shaft stolen, had 3k in tools stolen out of the...

    IH injector nozzle questions

What gets me is this... People can't even build these things back to stock, like make them work like stock injectors should, sooooo they don't even have a baseline to go off to even have half a clue of what to change and how everything works... They buy parts, from what other's say oh yeah it's...

Dana 80 swap vs Repairing 10.25 Sterling..

The tone ring got warped when I pulled a Case 850D on a long grade up a hill with a 10 ton tag trailer... I have 7 leaf rear stacks that can literally support the weight of a Big Cam Cummins, yes I have put a Big Cam in the back of my F350 and went 2 hrs one way to pick up another one for my...

fine metal shavings in filter?? need help asap

If you replaced the IPR that had a broken screen that had metal on it I would be very leery of a failed hpop... But it wouldn't hurt to pull cab, valve covers and heads off to get all lifters out to take a look at everything.. I was once told a young man thinks he knows and an old man knows he...

fine metal shavings in filter?? need help asap

Well pull the IPR and inspect the screen for metal shavings on the screen, it's rare to see a HPOP fail and not cause a hard to start condition if there is a metal failure.. I've seen HPOP failures usually come a while after there was a serious leak that an owner didn't fix fast enough (I:E...

fine metal shavings in filter?? need help asap

I've done a few camshafts in 6.0s, and about 50 different engines.. If you have a metal failure, it's mandatory to take it apart down to the block and clean it very well. REPLACE your oil cooler as 6.0s have a fin type and not a log type like a 7.3, or a Cummins NTC or Cat 3406... Get it apart...

    DPC 2016

You must have gobs of hr's of tuning to get a *** to live at 1000hp?? Most DOC's and ***'s crack at around 1300 degrees, anything over 1500 degrees is meltdown inside the DOC before it reaches the ***s.. I'd be extremely impressed to say the least if I saw the trucks perform a parked regen then...

Dana 80 swap vs Repairing 10.25 Sterling..

Ain't no way I'm giving up my grease bearing true D60 front axle... One set of wheel bearings, races, seals, and ball joints in 450,000 miles.. Two sets of tie rods and a set of track bar bushings 7 years ago... I have to say the OBS front axle is one stout axle and since I have owned it and...
