    Help blue smoke issue

Then you need to find the hopefully one injector with IDS. AE with a compensated scan won't show it.

    How’s this for FN weird?

SWAG Warning I wonder if one injector harness has a slightly compromised shielding and one FICM's circuitry is more prone to EMF. I know some HAM operators that say the 7.3L was a nightmare for EMF compared to the 6.0. Some HAM operators have EMF meters and if you know one, sweeping the two...

    Battery voltage while driving

Thanks for the input. Glad it helped on the old truck. Enjoy the new one.

    Battery voltage while driving

The thermistors in most alternator voltage regulators are designed to lower the voltage output from 14.4v to 13.8v as the underhood temps rise. Part of it is the reporting by the PCM software, which varies by channel. It will never be the actual voltage, but the resistance at the positive and...

    Motorcraft ta-30 sealant

My understanding of TA-31 is it was specifically formulated to not cause foaming of the motor oil in an HEUI pressurized oil system.

    I'd be checking the pushrod.

Fresh rebuild what kind of oil?

International's oil from the assembly line was 10-30 conventional.

    possibly another head gasket!!?

It was suggested to vacuum fill the coolant system to see if that helps, a much easier thing to try than a teardown.

    possibly another head gasket!!?

If vacuum filling takes care of it that would be great.

    possibly another head gasket!!?

His was the first one I've ever read about having that issue, and that was the cure. You're sounded similar. Just throwing it out there. Oh, and he could remove his tune and it would be OK.

    possibly another head gasket!!?

Your story is similar to akblackfoot's on FTE. Rebuilt and modified power motor that would develop high pressures, but no puking. Removed EGR, etc. His shop tore the motor down and the gaskets were fine, so no combustion gas getting into the coolant system to puke. The solution was to add...

How far does it drop after an overnight cooldown?

And I truly understand your frustration.

    possibly another head gasket!!?

The FelPro's are a thicker gasket overall (0.010") and use a different approach than the factory design. When I talked to them they stated the gasket, like all other gasket manufacturers, were not designed with any thought towards o-rings and had no opinion if they were compatible. There's one...

    possibly another head gasket!!?

My comment was about it's not proper to skip checking the decks or heads, even if a shop decides to not get a machine shop to look at it they still need to check for flatness.

    possibly another head gasket!!?

The only times I've seen the gaskets blow out by the coolant passages is during a high overheat, they usually crown in the center. I would guess the deck had a biscuit run over it and it's wallowed. Some machining shops state not to use Felpro gaskets with o-rings, but others can be fine...

    possibly another head gasket!!?

Yep, an old farm trick when you're checking out a used tractor ..... or an old car trick when checking old cars ..... fit in whatever your experience, but it tells if the HG is blown or head is cracked. All depends on the traits of the unit. For us its HG or EGR, which I assume the OP doesn't...

    Camshaft Piston to Valve clearances

Agreed, I already have the FelPro's. The Motorcraft did a remarkable job considering the deck surfaces, but that issue has been eliminated. I quoted the wrong number now that I looked at what I wrote down last night, gained 0.007", but still need the Felpro. I'm not doing the o-rings even...
