It was definitely a learning experience. After I flipped that outer ring of the gear around in the housing and reinstalled everything, the converter turned smooth as butter. I'm sure there was a pucker factor involved in that repair! Replacing the pump isn't that bad of a job as long as your...

Well, I think I figured it out. The original pump gear set had markings on both pieces, the new gear set only had a mark on the internal gear. Apparently I had the outer piece that had no marking on it installed in reverse orientation. Reversing this part caused the outer pump ring to be about...

So I don't know what's going on. I put the new converter in and it still won't free spin. I'm sure all the engagements are proper. The trans pump gears are new. I dont know what else could be an issue at this point. DPC converter. Update. I pulled the converter and confirmed everything inside...

Well the saga continues. My screw up with the converter installation(which could have been remedied in 2min if i just checked it from the get go) apparently has had farther reaching ramifications than I knew. I got the pump reinstalled today. Then put the converter on and it would not spin after...

Used the 1/2 extension and it popped right out, can't believe I made a mountain out of a mole hill. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Learned some lessons on installing this engine. I never pulled the converter after I removed the engine, but apparently the converter got disengaged from the transmission pump gears. When I went to mate the engine to trans I thought things went together ok, alas no. When I got them mated I tried...

Fluidyne cooler. I'm also making some fun things for this engine and will be building a top plate in place of the factory oil cooler/filter setup. I have limited 6.0 experience. Looking at some oil flow diagrams, it appears that the cavity in the engine valley(beneath cooler/filter),is actually...

I'll see what I can do on the syrup. Would post more pics of the build, but there would be nay sayers, but maybe most of them have moved on to FB, etc. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Was prepping for the oil pan, and noticed these 2 alignment dowels. I dont remember removing anything from these. We're these for factory machining, or have I lost my mind and misplaced something that goes there? Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Gentleman, I've had a fairly bad experience with dynamite diesel performance and machine when it comes to sourcing my rebuild kit. The kit they sent me had mostly 6.0 stuff in it. I first noticed they failed when I tried to install the 6.4 rod bearings in the 6.0 rods. (Crossed referenced the...

Do you guy supposed the o-rings are...

Bismic, thanks for the part numbers. In my searches I haven't found just a o-ring kit. All I'm finding is the j-tube with o-rings as deezez said. Quite the cost difference between aftermarket and oem. But I think I'll stick to oem. My hpop cover has the ipr mounted on the cover. Sent from...

Ok, I figured there was some type of seal in there that could fail. Do you have a part number or link to a new one? I'll do some digging to see if I can find it as well. I found them. No need to look for me. Thanks. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Is there any o-rings on these branch tubes that can he replaced(other than the mounting o-rings)? Or is this just a clean and reinstall piece? Thanks. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Making some progress on the rebuild. I'm installing arp rod bolts(mainly because I had them on the shelf), and I noticed the original bolt had a thin sleeve on it(see pic). Do the arp bolts need this too? They seem they could be hard to remove from the original. Trying to get these piston/rod...

Reviving this.... Pulled the engine and tore it down. Dumped significant coolant out of the passenger exhaust manifold. Also confirmed a bad egr cooler. The coolant sat in some of the cylinders and started pitting. Also found a trashed lifter and matching cam lobe. Needless to say she's getting...
