    4x4 hub seals

    I put a pressure on it prior to taking it loose, and the air was escaping from around the outside of the hub/knuckle area. Not the Spindle/bearing area. Makes me think the outer Oring for the hub is bad...it seals against the knuckle.

    I see a red o ring on the outer hub/4x4 select assembly, and it seems may be one on the hub assembly itself. Are these the O-rings that need to be replaced? I dont see anything else that would cause a leak?

    From the looks of it, Ford only shows a seal for the locker. No break down on the hub. Sucks.

    Ok Guys After trouble shooting my ESOF system (4x4 only engages in manual), I have determined its my driver side hub seal. Fuses are all good. Electric Solenoid is good. Vacuum solenoid workin properly. No leaks in the system except for the Left hub. I am going to attempt to replace the seals...

    I havent tried Xstreet for milage. Might have to give it a try. Once I got adjusted to the touchy throttle on the Xrace...it take only a light pedal for DD.

    You can use Xrace and use the delay firm tranny tune and will hold the shifts later.

    My Milage in XStreet doesnt come close to Xrace. In town or on the Hwy. 373 gears and 35's, my best is 19MPG..26.5 on the Lie-a-meter.

    Mine would go into 4th and get stuck until I turned the key off and cranked again. Changing the direct solenoid fixed that issue. Under normal circumstances, Im not sure what brings the tranny to shift to 4th. Its always a 3-5th shift.

    I re-installed the tune. Seems to be shifting great. Next step will be as Mark said...Intermediate Solenoid. To bad they dont make a modified GoGo for it. Seems if the Tranny was slipping (Clutches going bad) it would continue regardless of re-installing the tune. I believe the Direct is 5-6...

    If the converter was locked, wouldnt the truck still move, just under a load at low RPM? It definately could be a solenoid, but which one could cause this? I have the direct drive GoGo solenoid. I was also wondering if the Tranny fluid pump was getting weak.

    I owned 2 6.0 diesels. I now have an 08 6.4 with SCT tuner and custom tunes by Innovative. You will be blown away by the power these trucks make. All the above mentioned tuners are great. Do the Mods he mentioned.

    Keep us updated on this issue. Will wait to get the update till these issues are addressed. It may be a truck ot tune issue, but I would like to find out. My truck has been running great. Just made a 110 mile trip, and the fuel needle barely moved off of full. Running Xrace, and Raceloc.

    If there was no question of a head gasket failure, I see no reason that one stud at a time would hurt it. Its more torque with less stretch on a headgasket thats sealing. If you have access to remove the cab...than do it right and remove the heads.

    I am very interested in updating. I have the 3.02. What changes have been made with the new update? My truck has been running flawless. I also never got any codes with the new X-xtreem tune.
