The truck didn't even have in tank mods? Well thats where I would have started. Fuel pressure shouldn't drop with 160's with stock nozzles,EVER!- bruce

There was an old swamps story from back in the day that they had a 400 horse truck (stage 1) and it had a 6637 that was like black it was so dirty, had like 60k on it and it made the exact same hp as the truck without a filter installed.- bruce

Fuel Pressure Drop
Has it had the in-tank mods done? Also, low fuel pressure can cause low icp (pretty much what you described, longer pw to make up for low FP) but i've never heard of low icp causing a few psi issue. If so we prolly all would have had a fuel psi issue at one point.- bruce

If you end up needing a cup tool holler at me -
purging cylinders after injector oring swap
just set the valve covers on and disconnect the 42 pin and whirl it over with the glow plugs out. Hell i've done it where I only barred the engine over by hand and didn't have a problem. You're gonna need to crank and fill the hpop res a few times to get it to fire though. -

So you can put all that money into the engine but want to skimp on the tranny? You've never even tried to use the auto at a decent power level. You have a few pieces in the tranny to make it last a little while. It'll last a long time if you don't drive like an as$hole constantly.- bruce

Cups 99% will put fuel in the coolant. They make strips to detect combustion gasses in the coolant. Definitely do a compression test though. -
