    trans issues

You need to check for codes. Without the codes, all anyone can do is guess.

    Trans Pan

If you want the bottom of your truck to look pretty, put the pan on. That's the only benefit from a deeper pan. It won't help cool your transmission.

5R110 No forward or reverse gears after install

MERCON LV is fine. Put a pressure gauge in the test port on the driver's side of the trans. It's a 1/8" NPT thread. You need a 0-350 PSI range. What pressures does it have in each position, PRND321?

    Help with transmission issues

The lines can be easily flushed with some solvent and compressed air. The only way to get a clean cooler is to scrap the ones you have and get new coolers.

    Help with transmission issues

I know, they should give warning. Each transmission is given a lecture before it leaves the factory that if it's going to die that it MUST give the driver a two week notice so that they won't get stranded. When a mechanical part breaks, which is what has happened to your transmission, it works...

    Elite Stage 3 Transmission issues

TC slip doesn't look at the output shaft speed. It compares engine speed and turbine speed. Output shaft speed is used with turbine speed to compute actual gear ratio.

    Elite Stage 3 Transmission issues

No. The TCC solenoid feed pressure to the torque converter clutch valve. This valve is located inside the pump body, it is not near the solenoid. The only way to know for sure about the converter is to remove it and cut it open. Usually everything else is eliminated as a possibility, and if...

    Elite Stage 3 Transmission issues

You could have a stuck torque converter clutch valve in the pump body, a bad seal on the input shaft, or a bad torque converter.

    Torque converter lockup switch

The light is flashing because the PCM can detect the added ground.

    Help with transmission problem

Not quite. I was an engineer developing the calibration for the diesel version of the 5R110. The aftermarket calls the calibration the tunes.

need help with a trany problem

Check for codes. Also, check that the scanner is showing engine RPM and vehicle speed.

    Help with transmission problem

It could mean that the solenoids for SSPC-C and SSPC-D are swapped, i.e., the solenoid that belongs in the hole for SSPC-C is the one that goes in SSPC-D and vice versa.

    Help with transmission problem

The only way I can see this happening is if the intermediate clutch and the direct clutch are both on at the same time. If you had swapped SSPC-C and SSPC-D That would cause both clutches to come on when they should both be off.

    Trans/tps sensor problem?

Very true. But there still is no code that says replace the TPS or replace the accelerator pedal. There are codes that say that the TPS signal is bad, but it could be a wiring issue. The TPS itself may be fine. My point is that if you just replace parts because of a code you often waste money...

    Help with transmission problem

Check the fluid level warmed up with the engine idling in park. The wrong fluid level (in EITHER direction) can cause problems.

    Trans/tps sensor problem?

Then there should be codes stored again. There is no code that says to replace the accelerator pedal assembly.

    Help with transmission problem

If you checked the level with the engine off I can guarantee that the fluid level is wrong in your transmission. That might be the problem. I hate to ask this, but I must. You do know that not all of the solenoids are same, right? Some have high pressure with high electrical current, and some...

    Trans cooler flush

There is no effective way to flush a transmission cooler. Replace it. Removing the bypass tube is a really bad idea. There is a really cheap rebuild kit that will bring it back to original function. That's what I recommend.

    Questions on updating the 5R110.

The newer filter is finer than the toilet paper filter on the earlier transmissions. It also filters 100% of the fluid. The toilet paper filter only filters 10% of the cooler flow, and that's only a small fraction of the total fluid before the trans warms up and the thermostat opens...

    Odd shifting

I developed the factory tunes. I never did a production tune for an E4OD/4R100. I did several for off road race trucks running E4ODs and later 4R100s. My last day at Ford was in 2007.
