i think i spent a whole 10$ on the parts. haven't had any time to install it yet but i have only heard good things.

the alternator is only to put a surface charge on the batteries while the truck is running. that would not make any difference in the amps needed for starting.

if the truck is not starting off the batteries then it must be the starter. try checking the starter and see if your starter is getting weak. so all of this just started happening after the chip install?

i have never had to do it myself but i think you need to take it to the dealer. or if you have your own programmer i know you can reset it from there. i will get back to you on how to do it, i will try to get a hold of my cousin. hes a ford mechanic, i will tell him what problems you are having...

i use the full force diesel and really haven't noticed any difference.

i would start with checking what you installed with the chip and what the pcm looks like. if you cleaned too far or if its just a bad connection. then i would load test the batteries to see if your holding enough cranking amps to run your starter. if pcm is good batteries good and truck runs...

i know that auto zone has them. auto meter also sells a pretty good tester as well. but you will want to test them at half the cranking amps that are listed on the battery. not cold cranking amps. its a simple mistake and its one i made the first time i went to load test my batteries.

need a load tester. if you don't have one i think almost all auto part stores will.

have you load tested the batteries? try that its simple and new batteries would be a quick fix and not to pricey. where as the pcm i think your looking at about 700 big ones.

have you load tested the batteries. some times you will read 12volts and you have no cranking amps. i also have read that if you have the key in the ignition and plug the chip in to the pcm it will fry the pcm.
