The no start when cold has been fixed, it was the IPR. However, the hard hot start still persists. The mechanic says he pressure tested the HPOP system, and there were no leaks, etc. Is this a fuel issue? Injectors? All it takes is a small whiff of ether to start (I know I shouldn't use...

My brother has a 2005 SCSB, and he welded the frame like this build, but then welded a square plate over the whole joint as well. If I had a setup like that, I wouldn't worry about it in the slightest. It's not like the frame is getting any smaller or thinner because of it...as long as you can...

Not a horrible day for fords..tomorrows events will show their true power and potential. They usually do well in the trailer events and sled pull. edit: I guess the sled pull is the third day.

I had just figured that it was toast and they were going to swap in a new stock converter...my bad.

Maybe this is a dumb idea but why not just load a different lower HP tune to hopefully help out the stock converter? We all know it doesn't take 1k hp to win this anyway. A stock one might (heavy on the might) have a chance at 700hp. I realize with the charger setup, etc., that it would...

And canned SCT tuners have that option for the 6.0's already. It actually works really well if you don't mind downshifting pretty aggressively and letting it rev. The stock tow haul function isn't aggressive enough to really let it do its job though.

I could get a 8mm wrench on those bolts under the EGR, but I can't get enough torque on them in that small of a space. And I don't want to round them off...guess I'll keep trying. I'm just going to do the STC fitting for now and hope that fixes it...I'm planning on selling the truck after it...

Also, do I have to get the STC "updated kit", or can I get just the updated fitting? I realize the kit would be the best, but will just the fitting fix the current problem?
