Current injectors are Swamps 175/30's that ran very well with Curtis Frost BID (back in the day lol) tuning on a TS chip, But if I gotta yank em and replace I'm going to try something bigger. Curtis ran detuned 300/200's up here and towed at altitude with no issues at 500hp so I'm thinking that...

    Golf ball pistons

Yea, I still don't see how you got there regarding my comments since I never advocated against any of those things. I believe the correct term is straw man. My view was there is no economic benefit for me to use their burdensomely expensive unproven product, and there are much more economical...

I'm confused how we got to communism?

    Golf ball pistons

I had no idea they were that much, and yes, there should be a LOT of data for something that expensive, like exactly what you're saying, before and after with same same everything and some dyno charts, otherwise their brochure is just a bunch of fluff to get people to overpay for snake oil. if a...

    Golf ball pistons

Daves engines installed a set in a 7.3 Powerstroke engine for a ...Cummins engineer. I don't know if they have installed them in any other engines.

    Cold start upgrades

Yes the factory AIH is useless. I was thinking more like the Cummins heater. The factory AIH wasn't used for starting, it was for smoke reduction when idling.

No sir, I'm keeping that, sorry.

    Cold start upgrades

New trucks start much easier when cold and dont even need plugging in sub zero. I've done the heavy duty GPR, got the good GP's, full syn etc etc. Plugging in is not an option, I'm off grid. I'm thinking of playing around with an intake heater and cold start tunes. Anyone seen or done this?

Anyone using these? Seen them on Daves engines youtube channel.

Well, here I am looking out the window at the old 99 over coffee and thinking I should give the new 7.3 gasser truck a break and put the Stroke back on the road and wondering what injectors are the new hotness, so I decide to load PSA for the first time in years and see what current posts for...

    Dual remote IPR's

Ouch on the main bearings. However, that does indicate how much oil the pumps use and or need if they can lower LPO pressure enough to starve the mains. I sold my twins before I had a chance to set them up with this dual block and valley dump. I don't recall them making any noise, but it would...

    Dual remote IPR's

That would be an interesting option. Can I assume that would require ******** stock fule bowl? On a related tangent, I seem to recall starvation issues with bigger pumps when returning the oil to the pan instead of the reservoir. I also seem to recall some talk (might have been the voice in my...

    Dual remote IPR's

It came with a custom plug for running in single config. I was pretty fortunate to get this one. Jason is a solid dude. I definitely think twins need this. The amount of heat and oil foaming from the restriction really affects driveability. You can feel the oil fading under long or multiple WOT...

Anyone ever convert their stock manual hubs to auto?

To be fair, you were pretty vague. Maybe I should have clarified. But you could have also. Or is this a "sootie said so" kind of thing? You didn't really share any relevant info.

Anyone ever convert their stock manual hubs to auto?

That would make more sense. I wonder what the main issue was with those and if it was something addressed by an updated part?

Anyone ever convert their stock manual hubs to auto?

That's not even remotely true considering most 4WD vehicles in the last 20 years have them, only one of the 6 4WD vehicles I've owned (3 Fords, 1 Toyota, 1 Nissan, 1 Jeep) with auto hubs has had an issue (the Jeep was 25 years old and a vacuum line broke), none of my friends with them have had...

Anyone ever convert their stock manual hubs to auto?

I have manual hubs and T case on my E99. In winter I tend to just leave the hubs locked and shift from 2H to 4H when needed since the road conditions and weather in CO mtns can go from sunny dry roads to a blizzard just by changing location a few miles. If I'm just driving around local its not a...

    Power output of stage 1’s

Curtis did actually address exactly that in the post I linked. You need to get past the idea that you need a different program for towing. He towed with 250/200's over 10K ft passes in CO staying under 1200, and he wasn't driving slow, using the same tune he used to lay down 450 on PMR's. A tow...

    Power output of stage 1’s

What were the issues with the shifting? All of the shift strategies I tried, from very well known tuners, were absolutely undriveable in Colorado mountains and towing. Smokey, turbo surge, heat, slam shifting, never hated anything on my truck more than those tunes. The stock shifting solved all...

    Power output of stage 1’s

He doesn't post here anymore and doesn't tune anymore, but he wrote the best tunes my trucks ever had after repeated failures by a big name tuner. This should be relevant to your question.
