08 350 transmission issues

ive been having problems with my transmission lately, wanted to see if any one could pin point my problem before I throw a ats in it.

when I punch the throttle the truck will rev up to over 3grand hang for a min then shift hard into 3rd then quickly into 4th locking and unlocking the torque converter until finally it shifts into 5th with the torque converter locked and it pulls hard to over 100 mph. it will jam gears all the way through though like it doesn't know what gear to go into.

when I drive it nice and easy it shifts fine with no issues.

all fluids are good, maintenance always done (shes my baby) and right under 80k,

so you have only needed 1 fluid change with filter if you have a late build 5R110"W"

correct? or do you have an early build with external filter ?


no real reason to these ?'s but I figure if Mark K or others read this the more info the better

also I see a lot of comments on ATS so I would research before jumping on that wagon

not sure what trans. it is. its at home while im at work, I took it to the transmission shop and they changed all my fluids and filters. also should have mentioned that the 5th gear seloniod and 4th and 5th gear clutches were replaced due to heat spots a few months ago.

If you just had the trans rebuilt you should take it back to them.

I was wondering Who would do 4-5th gear clutches at 80k and not just do em all ??

he said everything else looked brand new, I was out of town while he was doing them so I didn't get a chance to look at it while it was taken apart.

I'd go right back to him if it's been apart. Could also be just your junk tunes.

that's another thing I was thinkin, get a h&s I tried reloading the tunes on the truck, all of them to see if it would quit. idk when I get home its goin to my diesel mechanic and see what he says, I was just wondering if any one else had this issue and knew what it was.
