08 alternator

Hi so I have the dual alternator in a 08 lariat, top went bad then battery light stayed on noticed bottom had a burnt plug so replacing that alternator tonight. My question is that ppl say with aftermarket alternators the battery light stays on. Any truth to this? Thanks

Mines been on for 2yrs with an aftermarket.

Check harnesses for broken/corroded wires. I had a battery light for 6 months with no signs of a bad alternator or batteries. It ended up being a broken wire right at the alternator plug.

Yea ended up being the bottom alternator and it took out the top one. Bottom had a fried regulator

i only have the single alternator but had heard the same stories about aftermarket alternators causing the bettery light to stay on. I had my mechanic install a NAPA unit adn have had no battery light and no issues at all with it for many years now.
