I thought if a motor swap was done it had to be of the same year or newer put in the vehicle to be legally registered and inspected? Or is that just a few states that have that requirment? Thanks
:stupid::stupid::stupid:Some people are going to hate me for bumping this back up........
All the emissions stuff asside, can it be down?
Im thinking a Regular Cab F450 with a P Pumed 24v would be a pretty slick truck!!!!:fustrate::fustrate::fustrate:
All the reasearch Ive done, there isnt a whole lot of parts out there for a swap in an 08 and up Ford...... Destroked has some engine mounts and trans adaptors, but thats about the extent of any parts I can find. Wiring is nonexistant so far, and thats the biggest stumbling block so far........
If you have a CP3 failure on a 5.9 CR do you need to pull the turbos/cab to replace it?
Simplicity is nice on a 5.9.. any performance costs alot.. it's all in what you wanna do..
Why would you want to?
I'd staple my dik to a wolverine before I'd replace a 6.4 with anything other than a nastier 6.4.

Aside from the looney Die-Hard Cummins freaks, no one will do the swap. seeing as how you're suggesting an inferior engine to replace the 6.4, how about converting it to GM's 6.2L diesel, 6.9L IH IDI, or perhaps the rotary pumped cummins? Can it be done? sure, but what's the incentive? While you're busy pulling the 6.4 out of a truck you should think about maybe swapping in an old flathead V8, or fantasize about dropping your p pumped b series into a Bugatti Veryron. The p pumped 24 valve platform in the minds of many a redneck is the crown jewel of simplicity, power, smoke, and cool tractor noises. Even your kid brother could do a swap. While some of my suggestions are over the top, the line of logic is there. Save that engine to go in an old junker that will benefit from it.
I'll never understand spending all the time/money swapping a Cummins into a Ford.
You could buy a dodge diesel truck for less than what most people spend on just a conversion

Thats a silly statement. I could have just bought a dodge, but guess what... NO. I may have spent a **** load of time along with others putting a cummins in a ford but its the kind of truck I want. Sure I coulda bought a new truck with the money but instead I built the truck I'd want. You might not understand it, but Im guessing thats why you most likely have a dodge. No offense intended.
I guess its just as silly as modifying our trucks. So am i stupid b/c i bought a 6.0 with low compression to do a CR Cummins swap??
Or just the guys doing a 6.4 to 5.9/6.7 swaps???
