Sweet deal Wes. Good luck with the build man, it should be relilable with those pistons and arp's. Are you going to do the gapless top ring?

I'm no expert but on the racecars we would run a gapless top ring to keep some extra compression and a standard bottom ring. If you run both rings gapless we found that the air gets trapped between the two rings and they will flutter to bleed off pressure. So I would think that having a gapless top ring would be a good thing. I really don't know of the disadvantages. Hopefully somebody with more knowledge on this will chime in.

I think you mean second ring....

Nah, he means top. In every other real performance application gapless seconds are usually a no-no unless running a gapless top. Unfortunately, with factory pistons we do not have the option to go gapless with the tops because they are a keystone style ring. Personally I don't think that there is very much of an advantage of running them. With the right bore and hone job you will be just fine with standard rings. My 2.6 truck doesn't have gapless rings. Has literally no oil in the blowby tubes at all, and I leave the line at 5500 rpm. And it's a 6.4. But either way, it's up to the op in his preference.

I didn't take a lot of pics to be honest.

I got sick of blowing boots. So I braced all the joints. And SOLID mounts for the intercooler welded up. It will not sit crocked again.
