Depends what your going to do with it if you just drive it and tow a 10.25 will prolly be fine. If you are going to pull it and stuff an 80 is the strongest you can get. If I had the money I would have an 80.

I agree if you are not doing anything out of the ordinary just put in a 10.25 and go. Any idea what caused your other axle to spin in the tubes. The only time I saw that happen was a dumb azz trying to do a burnout with a loaded gooseneck trailer.

I never really tow. I like to run at the track alot and I'd like to try my hand at pulling but nothing major. I was going to do a burnout and and as it was building boost, before the tires even broke loose.. POW! was all you heard.

I'd do a SD axle--I hate the fact that the rear is a smaller stance than the front. PLus you get rear disk brakes--though I have heard mixed reveiws from people-something to do with the proportioning(sp?) valve on the OBS. What gearing do you need? I just picked up a 10.25 with 4.10's for the truck. My 3.55's are killing me towing, so i will have that axle for sale soon

What about the different bolt pattern though? And I'm lookin for 4.10's. I don't tow but with 35's at 60 it puts me at like 1700 which doesn't bother me.

oops--forgot about that! Was just ast the crazy rays in Baltimore and here in Mt. airy and they both had at least a dozen 10.25's in--I think they run $80 for a rear. I just picked a complete one up yesterday for $50 with 4.10's of ebay. Good Luck!
