There are not 6 gears

actually there are 6, depending on the temperature it uses a different combination. There are 6 but it only uses 4th when its really cold if iirc. Thats why people refer to the 3-5 shift. Its not using 4th. Its going 1-2-3-5-6.

eerhtneves you couldn't be more incorrect, and need to do more research. In the 5r110 there are 6 gears and he is right being temperature dependent. However There are only 5 gears used at any given time. Shifting 1-2-3-5-6 or 1-2-3-4-6... that discussion is neither here nor there keep the BS out.

Nate I just tok a quick crappy video of my truck, nailing the pedal in 3rd gear. LMK if you want me to take it down. Thought it wouldbe a good comparison for ya

Greg,
No worries man. Thanks for the video. I know my TSD tune is that at least that fast and IMO, the SRL+ file I ran yesterday was that fast. You can leave it up, I dont mind at all. I will load up the SPD for my next test run and shoot another video and only show the speedo. I will do a similar run from third gear like you did. Glad to see the comparison for sure.

your truck is looking pretty slow an all for some 190s but i guess your not trying to make power.
Agree with above. On stock injectors one can hit 1600* egt easy.

Ok well I was going to let this one go but just couldn't. I have to ask, what basis do you do have to determine whether my truck is slow or fast?? As mention after this post of yours and in ALL of my videos, I clearly say what the throttle position was. Now you say that you can hit 1600F easy with stock injectors and a stock turbo?? Well how about this, my turbo isnt stock and neither is my intercooler and neither is my air intake filter. All of which work together to allow MORE COOL air to make it into the motor and keep EGTs from getting out of hand.

The bottomline is, you are entitled to your opinion but everything I have shown is actual data that folks can watch for themselves. So if you say you smoke like a freight train with stock injectors and a stock turbo and bake your engine at over 1800F, then good for you. For all I know you could put a plastic bag over the intake to get that or you could be at Dante's Peak. I have a video coming for a full WOT run with these sticks.

So after enough name calling and what have you LOL LOL LOL, I loaded up my TSD SPD tune for these 190s and drove it to work. Then when I got out of work, I went and did a full WOT run on my favorite test ramp. I took off easy to get it into 3rd gear (~20 mph) and then pinned it (like Greg did with his truck) and ran it to 100mph. The outside air temp was 80F and my EGTs made it right to 1800F (like 1780F) before I let out at 100mph. I will go get another video later so folks can see the smoke that they make. I am sure if I would have held out a little longer I could have pushed it over 1800F but I dont see the need for that. I am sure that the reason why my EGTs are as managable as they are is because of the extra air flow I have in this truck. I have a spearco intercooler, a S&B air intake, and the LBZ durastroke turbo. All of which I think work together to flow more COOL air to keep the EGTs down. If anyone has seen a spearco intercooler, they are simply huge and THICK with huge end caps, compared to a few competitor designs.

Yea, I wanted to finally throw down and see what she was capable of. I knew it was going to be fast but didnt know how fast exactly. It's good enough for me. I'm sure you heard my little boss in the back ground as well. She liked it.

Nate, what kind of boost are you seeing at WOT? The 4088 on my truck right now will hold 28psi @ WOT on my aftermarket psi gauge, but the dash gauge only reads 24-25. I'm just curious what the DStroke turbo is making. Your truck was really moving, can't wait to see how it moves with the 190's and the 4094!

Yea Matt, I dont know what I'm running for boost as I don't have an actual boost gauge. The boost numbers you see in the video are from the MAP sensor and I have not seen anything higher than 28psi ever, so I am thinking that the sensor is maxed out. I would be curious to know what level of boost this thing is capable of producing for sure. I guess it is time for me to put my autometer boost gauge back on.

Nice vid. Just a thought Ive thrown around that I havent heard anyone else doing is what about getting a Edge pressure sensor (like the fuel pressure one) and tapping it into you intake elbow. That way you could read both the map and intake boost psi side by side to tell if there is a real difference. Would seem cheaper (or about the same) and still keep the clean look.

Yep have thought of that too. It would work but would cost me like $260 to do it because my universal sensor input adapter is full with my fuel pressure and oil pressure gauges and I would have to get another one. Not that I couldnt find two more pressures to monitor (i.e. boost and back pressure) but I just dont have the funds right now.

well if your full then ya that could cost more. I got one free right more that I might try it on.
